Miley Cyrus appears to be addressing her breakup with Liam Hemsworth and his rumored drug use in her new song, “Slide Away.”
The “She is Coming” singer dropped her latest single on Thursday evening, less than one week after the famous duo announced they were separating after less than a year of marriage.

Miley’s lyrics seem to make it clear that her and Liam were no longer on the same page.
The chorus begins, “So won’t you slide away back to the ocean, I’ll go back to the city lights,” insinuating she may no longer be happy with Liam’s relaxed beach lifestyle.
Regarding the rumors that the actor is addicted to any sort of substances, Miley alludes to what sounds like his drink of choice and refers to pills.
“I want my house in the hills. Don’t want the whiskey and pills,” she sings. “I don’t give up easily but I don’t think I’m down.”
The singer also seems to address how their relationship has changed over the years. Remember, they began dating in 2010 after meeting on the set of “The Last Song.”
Miley hits the topic right away in her song.
“Once upon a time, it was paradise. Once upon a time, I was paralyzed. Think I’m gonna miss these harbor lights, but it’s time to let it go,” the 26-year-old is heard singing.
“Once upon a time, it was made for us. Woke up one day, it had turned to dust. Baby, we were found, but now we’re lost. So it’s time to let it go,” Miley continued.
Besides the reference to their separate lives and Liam’s alleged recreational habits, Miley also gets real by seemingly hinting she isn’t the same person he fell in love with all those years ago.
“Move on, we’re not 17,” she sings. “I’m not who I used to be. You say that everything changed. You’re right, we’re grown now.”
As The Blast reported, Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth announced their breakup through reps on Saturday.
The former couple got hitched in Nashville, Tennessee over the Christmas holiday last year.
Hemsworth addressed their separation on social media and Miley headed to Italy with Brody Jenner‘s ex, Kaitlynn Carter, who she was spotted making out with over the weekend.
