The Royal Family is not having the best year, with unfortunate events happening one after the other, and Princess Anne is the latest on the list.

Following King Charles III and Kate Middleton's cancer diagnoses, The Princess Royal was hospitalized on Sunday evening after suffering a concussion. Buckingham Palace shared her predicament in a statement on Monday.

Princess Anne is the second child and only daughter of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She is the third senior royal to suffer a health scare in 2024.

Princess Anne Hospitalized With Minor Injuries

According to a statement released by Buckingham Palace, King Charles III's sister Princess Anne was hospitalized after an unspecified accident left her with "minor injuries and a concussion."

The health scare reportedly occurred on the Gatcombe Park estate, and the Princess Royal was admitted into the Southmead Hospital, Bristol. She remains at the facility to date "as a precautionary measure for observation."

Fortunately, there does not seem to be negative impacts on Princess Anne's health as the statement noted she "is expected to make a full and swift recovery." As for the Royal Family's reaction to her hospitalization, Buckingham Palace added:

"The King has been kept closely informed and joins the whole Royal Family in sending his fondest love and well-wishes to The Princess for a speedy recovery."

The Royal Family Suffered A Double Cancer Scare

As stated, Princess Anne is the third senior royal to suffer a health crisis in 2024, with King Charles III and Kate Middleton battling cancer. The Blast reported the monarch opened up about his struggles during a candid interview with British Army veteran Aaron Mapplebeck.

Mapplebeck, who underwent chemotherapy for testicular cancer, could relate to the King's health issues. Charles revealed to the army veteran that he, too, had lost his sense of taste during his cancer treatments.

The Head of the Commonwealth realms first announced his cancer diagnosis earlier this year; however, Buckingham Palace has not disclosed the specifics of his treatment.

Nonetheless, it was known that Charles was receiving chemotherapy for an undisclosed form of cancer.

Buckingham Palace previously announced that the King would transfer the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps to Prince William at the Army Aviation Centre, where his second son, Prince Harry, trained to fly.

As expected, King Charles transferred command of Harry's former regiment to William in an official ceremony.This meant his oldest son would now represent the Army's airborne wing, including his brother's ex-unit, 662 Squadron.

During the handover ceremony, Charles, who was Colonel-in-Chief as the Prince of Wales for 31 years, proudly celebrated William's skills.

"The great thing is he's a very good pilot indeed... I can't tell you how proud it has made me to have been involved with you all this time," the doting father raved.

Princess Anne Bestowed An Honor On Daniel Craig

The Royal Family has been depicted in various media, especially in the James Bond franchise. However, Daniel Craig became the first person whoportrayed the beloved 007 agent to receive the same honor the fictional character got from the British empire.

In October 2022, The Blast reported the Royal Family honored Craig with the same title his fictional character had in the movies.

They announced the exciting news on their official X page, with a picture of the actor humbly receiving the honor from Princess Anne alongside the words:

"We've been expecting you… The Princess Royal presents Daniel Craig with The Order of St Michael and St George - the same honor held by his character James Bond - in recognition of his outstanding contribution to film and theatre."

The honor bestowed on Craig was one of Queen Elizabeth II's final acts before her death in September 2022. The Hollywood veteran made the late monarch's annual New Year's honors list for his "outstanding contribution to film and theatre."

Although he could not receive the title from the Queen, Craig could also reminisce about the time he starred alongside the late ruler in the opening ceremony for the 2012 Olympics in London.

The pair performed in a pre-taped clip, where the "Knives Out" actor was summoned to Buckingham Palace for a special mission. He had to escort the Queen to the Olympics venue, which the duo entered by parachuting off a helicopter.
