If you're a reality TV lover and you've ever watched the History Channel's hit, "Pawn Stars," a visit to the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop is a must when visiting Las Vegas.

I recently visited the shop so I could share some tips and information to help make your visit smooth and worthwhile.

When in Vegas, a visit to the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, where the hit History Channel show "Pawn Stars" is filmed is a must. Located just a few miles off the Strip, it's easy to get to, has free parking, and is a nice slower change of pace from the usual Vegas sightseeing and fun.

If you've ever watched the show, it's an exciting place to visit. And even if you've never watched the show, it's a cool place to check out.

One thing that is important to know is that if you're a fan of the show and you're hoping to get a chance to meet or at least see one of the stars of the show while you're visiting, it's not likely to happen so don't get your hopes up. (But there is a cardboard cutout of Rick Harrison in the store so you can at least get that photo!)

When you're done checking out the pawn shop, head to the other side of the parking lot to Pawn Plaza, a two-story shopping center made out of shipping containers. Over there, you'll find Rick's Rollin Smoke BBQ and Chumlee's Candy on the Boulevard. I didn't realize that it was across the parking lot, so we didn't venture over there but I highly recommend you do just to round out your experience.

What To Expect During Your Visit To Gold & Silver Pawn Shop

This is a popular stop! Sometimes you'll even find a line out the door just to get in to browse.

The day I visited, an employee was sitting by the door documenting how many people were in the shop. From where I was standing, I could see his paper labeled, "People Count." From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., there were 976 visitors to the store. That's a lot of foot traffic for just four hours!

Even if you're an avid watcher of the show, you might be wondering what kind of treasures you'll find in Gold & Silver Pawn Shop. There's lots of sports memorabilia, a variety of cards (Pokemon, sports, etc.), art, clothes, jewelry, video games, coins and currency, and more!

And while most people visit just to see the "Pawn Stars" set in person, there are some who are there to buy or sell things, because it is a fully functional pawn shop just like any other.

One thing to keep in mind when planning your visit is the hours of operation. The shop advertises that it's open 24/7, but that's only for pawning items. If you want to shop, they're only open 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Is "Pawn Stars" Still Filming New Seasons Of The Show?

My kids were big fans of the show when they were younger so we watched it often, but that was years ago, so I wasn't quite sure if new seasons were coming out. In my research, I found out that they did start filming season 23 earlier this year, but a release date hasn't been announced yet.

Rick, Corey, and Chumlee hit the road in 2023 to film "Pawn Stars Do America" season 2. Rick told TV Insider in October 2023, "I just signed with History to do more episodes of regular 'Pawn Stars' in Vegas. We start that in February.

The show originally premiered in 2009 and has aired more than 600 episodes, so a new season can be exciting for die-hard fans of the show.

It's being reported that Rick, his son Corey "Big Hoss" Harrison, and Corey's childhood friend, Austin "Chumlee" Russell will all be starring in the new season.

There Are Other Fun Things To Do In The Area Of The Iconic "Pawn Stars" Pawn Shop

Atomic Golf

If you're looking to keep the fun going after visiting Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, Atomic Golf is just a hop, skip, and jump away. Located next to The Strat Hotel, Casino & Skypod, it's something fun that the whole family can enjoy.

Similar to Top Golf, Atomic Golf is 99,000 square feet of "electrified and animated fun where the best elements of the game fuse together with great food, colorful drinks, and an engaging atmosphere," according to their website.

I took my 18 and 19-year-olds and their friend there and everyone had a great time. It was $60 an hour for a bay and an hour was just enough time for some competitive fun. The food was amazing, and the staff was super attentive and friendly.

Another Nearby Must Visit Is The Fremont Street Experience

The Fremont Street Experience is really an EXPERIENCE. And an interesting one at that.

In addition to the casinos, shopping, and dining options, there are also street performers, live music, and ziplining. It's an experience you have to see for yourself.

I feel that a lot of people avoid the downtown area when visiting Vegas because it's not as easily accessible if you're staying on the Strip and just walking everywhere. But it's a quick Uber or bus ride away and worth the trip.

Fremont Street is home to many unique things including the Neon Museum, Circa, which is home to the largest sportsbook screen anywhere, the world's largest keno board at The D, the Mob Museum, and the Heart Attack Grill where they'll literally spank you if you don't finish your food.
