From pop singer to firefighter? Taylor Swift, 34, is once again making headlines after a fire broke out in the kitchen of her $50 million NYC apartment.
The pop icon has been working on new music, including a song titled "Us" with her friend Gracie Abrams.
As the two were writing the lyrics to the track, Taylor Swift noticed a fire in her apartment's kitchen, and there was only one thing she could do to save the day -- grab a fire extinguisher (but not before panicking.)
Kitchen Fire At Taylor Swift's NYC Apartment
Taylor Swift and Gracie Abrams were hanging out at her $50M apartment, enjoying drinks and dinner while writing their new song, "Us." As the two enjoyed girl time, they noticed flames erupting in the kitchen. TayTay quickly came to the rescue, grabbed a fire extinguisher, and safely put out the fire, well, after she panicked a bit.
"She was such a legend – I don’t know how at this hour or in our state she knew what to do," the singer-songwriter told Billboard, explaining that they were up all hours of the night. "We both had an insane cough from the fire extinguisher fumes for weeks."
At first, they weren't sure what caused the fire, but after putting their heads together and recalling the sequence of events, they concluded that one of her cats had knocked over a candle.
The best part? Gracie caught the entire thing on video, and Swifties can't get enough.

In the video, TayTay asks Gracie, "What do I do about this?" while holding a fire extinguisher.
The singer-songwriter responds, "OK you're going to fire extinguish it," as Taylor says, "I think we're going to die" repeatedly.
Fortunately, Taylor composed herself, and the fire was successfully contained without any injuries, allowing Swifties to find some humor in the situation.
"My favorite part is the cat walking in wondering wtf is going on," one X user wrote after seeing the video. "'What do I do?' Taylor it’s just a small pot of fire please," another wrote adding a laughing face emoji.
"This is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen lmao," a third fan expressed.
Another Swiftie wrote, "Taylor slayed that fire!"
Inside The $50M Apartment
According to Page Six, Taylor Swift purchased the 7-bedroom Tribeca townhouse on Franklin Street from “Lord of the Rings” director Peter Jackson in 2014. It was later expanded along the cobblestone block with three units in the building next to the townhouse.
The outlet reported that her dining room walls are painted red and features "a long wood dining table, velvet couches, vintage red rugs, and neoclassical chandeliers," while her yellow-walled kitchen is "bright and contemporary."
Taylor Swift's Friendship With Gracie Abrams
Gracie Abrams recently sat down with Porter, where she spoke about her friendship with Taylor Swift, who called she called "an unbelievable artist, friend, and mentor."
She also said TayTay is "one of the reasons why" she "stuck with writing daily."
When speaking on music writing, Gracie admitted, "Now I start to feel like sh-t when I don’t do it. It’s like eating well, getting enough sleep, and drinking enough. Writing, for me, is something that helps my brain stay at a baseline calm that is required for me to function at the highest possible level in all the other areas."
2023 TIME's Person Of The Year
Taylor Swift was named 2023 TIME's Person of the Year, where she opened up about her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce.
“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she told the outlet. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other. By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple."
"I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date," she added.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” the pop icon said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
