Courtney Love, Frances Bean Cobain, Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic are all refusing to sit and be grilled about Nirvana in their legal battle with fashion designer Marc Jacobs.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Jacobs is letting the court know he is having issues getting Love, Cobain, Grohl and Novoselic to agree to give depositions.
Jacobs is being sued by Nirvana L.L.C. for allegedly ripping off an iconic Nirvana smiley face.
In new court filings, the designer explains to the court, “The principals of Nirvana, LLC are not your typical senior executives of a large company.”
He says Nirvana LLC consists of the two surviving members of Nirvana, who claim to have some agreement between themselves and Mr. Cobain regarding intellectual property rights” along with “the wife and daughter of Mr. Cobain."
Jacobs says so far their lawyers have refused to agree to schedule depositions. He says this is nonsense since they are the people who brought the lawsuit.
Love, Cobain, Grohl and Novoselic argue they are willing to hand over documents and information but feel the depositions are unnecessary at the moment. A judge has yet to rule.
