An eyewitness at the Hamptons hotel has confirmed that Justin Timberlake overindulged in alcohol prior to being arrested for a DWI.
He has since been charged to court on one DWI count and cited for not observing a stop sign and swerving between lanes.
Following his release without bail, Justin Timberlake is expected to head to Chicago for two shows as part of his ongoing tour.
Justin Timberlake Allegedly Drank Another Person's Drink And Was 'Wasted' Before Arrest
Timberlake's arrest for DWI has been making the rounds, and an eyewitness has revealed that the singer was heavily drunk before exiting a party at the Hamptons Hotel.
The source also claimed that the "Selfish" crooner went overboard at some point by drinking the drink of another person who had stepped away to the bathroom.
The anonymous individual said of the star, "He was wasted. At one point, just before closing, somebody got up to go to the bathroom and left his drink on the table."
"When [the man] came back, [Timberlake] was drinking his drink. The guy goes, 'Justin, that's my drink!" the source added, per the New York Post.
According to reports, Timberlake was partying with his friends at the location and left around 12:30 AM. However, several minutes after his departure, he was pulled over by traffic cops who saw him run past a stop sign and swerve between lanes.
The Singer Failed The Field Sobriety Test And Refused To Take A Breathalyzer Test
Other emerging reports revealed that the cops noticed Timberlake had glassy and bloodshot eyes and reeked of alcohol at the time of the traffic stop.
The singer also failed the field sobriety test, done to test his balance, coordination, and ability to follow instructions, which can be impaired by alcohol or drugs.
When the 43-year-old star was then asked to take a breathalyzer test to confirm blood alcohol levels, Timberlake refused the request three times and was subsequently handcuffed and taken away.
On Tuesday, he was released without bail, but not before being charged to court on one count of DWI. The "Mirrors" crooner was also slammed with a citation for not observing a stop sign and for failing to stay in his lane while driving.
Timberlake would be required to pay fines for the citation as determined by New York State law. He is expected to appear in court on July 26 for the charge hearing.
Mugshot Reveals Justin Timberlake's Bloodshot And Glassy Eyes
The actor's mugshot was recently released, revealing his glassy eyes. He allegedly reeked of alcohol, confirming that he was driving while intoxicated.
According to an official complaint, "it was ascertained that [Timberlake] was operating said vehicle in an intoxicated condition, in that: his eyes were bloodshot and glassy, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from his breath.
The complaint further notes that Timberlake "was unable to divide attention, he had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot, and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests."
Justin Timberlake's Alcohol Indulgence Once Got Him Into Trouble With His Wife
Back in 2019, Timberlake made headlines after he was photographed hand-holding actress Alisha Wainwright, one of his co-stars in his drama film, "Palmer."
The situation gained the singer negative traction at the time, as it made many assume that something inappropriate was going on between the female co-star and Timberlake, who is married to Jessica Biel.
In an open apology letter, Timberlake said it was "a strong lapse in judgment" influenced by the alcohol he had drunk when they were photographed together.
According to Newsweek, he wrote, "I displayed a strong lapse in judgment—but let me be clear—nothing happened between me and my co-star. I drank way too much that night, and I regret my behavior. I should have known better."
Timberlake added, "I want to apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that."
Justin Timberlake Fears Arrest Might Mess Up His Tour
Sources claimed that the singer muttered during the arrest that it was "going to ruin" his ongoing "Forget Tomorrow World Tour" tour.
Fortunately, his release from custody suggests he will likely perform his scheduled shows at Chicago's United Center, barring any legal restrictions preventing him from leaving the state before the court hearing.
After the Chicago shows, Timberlake is scheduled to turn up for two nights at the legendary Madison Square Garden in New York City.
His tour then heads to Boston, Baltimore, and Hershey and concludes its first leg in Lexington, Kentucky. After a brief hiatus, Timberlake will embark on the European leg, kicking things off in Krakow, Poland.
Cities across Germany, Belgium, England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, and France will also get a taste of "The Forget Tomorrow World Tour."
