Post Malone has failed to settle with his ex-girlfriend's previous lawyers as their negotiations recently fell apart.
The rapper, born Austin Richard Post, became embroiled in a legal battle when his former flame sued him for allegedly abusing her. However, she settled with her ex without giving the law firm that represented its cut.
Martorell Law has been going after Post Malone and his ex-girlfriend, Ashlen Diaz, since 2022 — suing the former couple for breaching the conditions of a palimony agreement.
Settlement Talks Fail Between Post Malone And His Ex-girlfriend's Former Legal Representatives
According to new reports, last week's hearing to dismiss the lawsuit against Malone has been pushed back nearly two months over failed negotiations between the parties. The court documents dated June 14 revealed:
"The Court learns that the settlement has not yet been finalized and therefore continues today's hearing."
The next hearing has been scheduled for August 1 at the courthouse in Inglewood, CA. The drama began when Malone's ex-girlfriend, Ashlen Diaz, enlisted Martorell Law to sue the "Sunflower" artist for allegedly abusing her during their three-year relationship.
Although the duo were never married, Diaz wanted to be paid after she and Malone initially broke up in 2018.She allegedly promised Martorell Law a percentage of the palimony settlement; however, it claimed the rapper convinced her to drop the firm, per RadarOnline.
Malone's Ex-girlfriend Allegedly Received $350K
In its arguments, Martorell Law accused Malone of turning Diaz against it and ensuring she dropped the firm as her legal representative.
Despite helping her forge the palimony deal, the rapper's ex made off with $350K while the organization did not receive its promised percentage.
Following Diaz's betrayal, Martorell Law sued her and Malone for breaching the conditions of their palimony agreement in 2022. It claimed it was owed a commission and seemed ready to fight to the bitter end.
However, the firm's tune changed in 2023 when it informed the court that it had settled with Malone and Diaz. The negotiations allegedly started after Martorell Law claimed it had photos and text messages related to the rapper's alleged "physical abuse" of his ex.
Martorell Law Claims It Has 'Hard And Detailed' Evidence
Eduardo Martorell, a lawyer for the firm, alleged Diaz told him about the abuse she suffered during her relationship with Malone. These conversations he had with her eventually gave him "hard and detailed" evidence of the alleged crimes. Martorell argued:
"During the course of my representation of Ms. Diaz, Ms. Diaz informed me that she suffered from acts of domestic abuse during her dating relationship with Defendant Post, which I now believe to be related to Ms. Diaz's breach of the contingency fee agreement."
"Ms. Diaz provided me with photographs and text messages with Defendant Post, and information relating to Defendant Post's abuse," he continued, alleging the evidence not only showed Malone's crimes but also the way he abused his power to blackball his ex from the industry.
Who Is Malone's Ex-girlfriend Ashlen Diaz?
Malone's former flame, Diaz, was born on December 19, 1995. Although she is a native of Dallas, Texas, her heritage can reportedly be traced back to Spain. As for her personality, she once shared details about herself on social media.
In a candid post, Diaz revealed she struggled with anxiety and described herself as shy. Although she was not the best at socialising, the media personality noted she was making an effort to be more outgoing.
Her desire to be more sociable might have helped her relationship with Malone, whom she reportedly knew before his fame.
The pair began dating in 2015, but their romance remained private until December of that year, when the rapper wished Diaz a happy birthday, per Sportskeeda.
Post Malone Experienced An Incredible Transformation
Last August, The Blast reported that Malone had finally spilled the tea on his incredible weight loss transformation. During an appearance on "The Joe Rogan Experience" podcast, the 28-year-old shut down speculations about his new body stemming for illness or addiction.
Malone attributed his nearly 60-pound transformation to a single significant lifestyle change — eliminating soda from his diet. However, giving it up completely was a different story for the "White Iverson" hitmaker.
"[If] I had a great show, and you know what, I'm feeling a little bit naughty. I'm gonna have myself a Coke on ice," Malone declared. Besides eliminating soda, maintaining a balanced diet contributed to his incredible weight loss transformation.
