If you could have dinner with anyone in the world—dead or alive—who would it be?

We would venture to guess that the person you chose would be someone you looked up to or idolized. For those sports fans, Derek Jeter, Alex Morgan, or Simone Biles will likely be at the top of the list. For the aspiring actors/actresses out there, we would assume someone like Tom Hanks,Denzel Washington, or Sandra Bullock would be sitting across the dinner table from you.

When pop icon Ariana Grande, 30, was asked who her dream dinner date would be, she opted for one of the most notorious serial killers to date, stirring controversy amongst social media users.

Like many of us, Ariana Grande has an obsession with true crime.

"I was infatuated with serial killers when I was younger,” the 30-year-old artist revealed on the Podcrushed podcast, prompting co-hosts Penn Badgley, Nava Kavelin, and Sophie Ansari to bring up a meet-and-greet experience Ariana had with a young fan.

“It was in a Q&A with fans, with young fans,” she said on the podcast. “It was in between me being Cat [in Nickelodeon’s 'Sam & Cat'] and pop stuff, so it was like a younger group, and they were with parents, and someone said. ‘If you could have dinner with anyone living or or dead, who would it be?’”

“I was like, ‘Oh, you're so cute. Mom and dad, is it okay if I give the real answer?’ And they were like ‘Sure, what’s the answer?’ and I was like, ‘I mean, Jeffrey Dahmer is pretty fascinating. I think I would have loved to have met him. Y’know, maybe with a third party or someone involved. But I have questions,'" she admitted.

What's For Dinner?

It's a good thing Ariana Grande said she would only go with a third party involved, considering Jeffrey Dahmer was a cannibal.

The infamous American serial killer and sex offender murdered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He also confessed to consuming parts of his victims, dubbing him the nickname the "Milwaukee Cannibal" or the "Milwaukee Monster." His crimes also included necrophilia and dismemberment.

Jeffrey Dahmer was finally arrested on July 22, 1991, when one of his intended victims, Tracy Edwards, managed to escape and flag down police. When officers entered Dahmer's apartment, they found photographs of dismembered bodies, severed heads, and other remains, leading to his immediate arrest.

During his trial, Dahmer was found to be legally sane and was convicted of 15 of the 17 murders he had committed. He was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms in prison. On November 28, 1994, he was beaten to death by a fellow inmate, Christopher Scarver.
