Melania Trump's ex-aide, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, has made a startling claim about Donald Trump based on a throwback video from his time on the popular reality show, "The Apprentice."
The former White House employee claimed that the video was proof that Trump seemingly married Melania because he needed a woman who would let him be the "star" and that their union eventually "legitimized them both."
Stephanie Winston Wolkoff has made several statements about Donald Trump and Melania Trump's marriage, once claiming their union is "transactional."
Donald Trump's Marriage To Melania Trump Allegedly 'Legitmized Them Both'
In a new post on her X page, Wolkoff took shots at the former first family, claiming that their relationship was merely one of convenience after Trump shot to fame via his appearance in "The Apprentice."
To make her case, the former aide shared a throwback video from the opening scene of the sixth season of the show, which featured Trump, Melania, and baby Barron.
Many may think “DADDY’S HOME” is a Father’s Day video. Nope!
Millions of Americans watched the Apprentice. Donald was a household name. He needed a woman who looked & played the part & let him be the star. In the clip, Melania is seen playing the part of the dutiful mother, while the billionaire mogul plays the part of a loving father. This is followed by a scene of him making remarks to motivate the contestants.
According to Wolkoff, Trump and Melania's marriage was driven by the former's need for "a woman who looked and played the part & let him be the star."
She also mentioned that their union eventually ended up as a win-win situation for the couple, claiming it "legitimized them both."

In a follow-up tweet, Wolkoff piled on further on the couple, claiming that the image the show portrayed about them helped "catapult" the duo to the White House.
Wolkoff wrote, "What catapulted Donald J. Trump 'businessman' and his 'supermodel' wife to the White House was a MIRAGE created by Survivor producer Mark Burnett and NBC boss Jeff Zucker."
The author reinforced her claim by referencing Ramin Setoodeh's book "Apprentice in Wonderland," which she says proves that even Trump himself admitted that getting to the White House would not have been possible without "The Apprentice."
"Editor in chief of Variety & NYT bestselling author @RaminSetoodehchronicles the definitive untold story of Trump's years as a reality TV star & how Trump himself admits he might not have been president without The Apprentice," Wolkoff added, along with an image of what appeared to be the front cover of the book.
Social Media Reacts To Stephanie Winston Wolkoff's Claims About Donald Trump
In the comment section of Wolkoff's tweet, several X users also pointed out that Trump would not have been famous without "The Apprentice."
One user commented, "I have been saying this over and over. Without The Apprentice, most of the country wouldn't have even known who he was."
A second person remarked, "Trump was a broke a-- conman. It was the Apprentice that made him popular, but in reality, it was all a sham."
Some other users also speculated that at the time the video aired, Trump was involved with women who were not his wife.
An X netizen wrote, "So this was about the same time @realDonaldTrump was f-cking a porn star (and probably others.) Funny."
Someone else commented, "Creepy Trump arrives home to wife and bebe after coercing sex from Stormy."
One more person said, "Wasn't this the time period when Trump was seeing Stormy Daniels and Playmate Karen McDougal?"
The Ex-Aide Previously Slammed Donald Trump's Lawyer's Defense Of Melania Not Attending Hush Money Trial
Earlier this month, Wolkoff criticized Melania and Trump's attorney, Todd Blanche, after the latter said the former first lady's absence from the hush money trial should not be seen as a lack of love and support for her husband.
She wrote on X, "When you genuinely 'love and support' someone, the opinions and perceptions of others become irrelevant, and you stand by them unwaveringly. Neglecting to show up due to concern for optics reveals a lack of genuine care."
Following the trial, Trump was eventually convicted of all 34 counts of falsifying his business records to hide illegal payments he made to former adult star Stormy Daniels in a bid to influence the 2016 presidential elections.
The billionaire is expected to be sentenced in July, but it remains unclear if the eventual sentence will include prison time.
Melania And Donald Trump's Union Was Labeled 'Transactional'
Last month, Wolkoff criticized her former boss' marriage during a discussion about Trump's New York hush money trial with CNN's Jake Tapper, explaining that she believed Melania's marriage to the former president was "transactional" in nature.
Wolkoff alleged that Melania and Trump's marriage is a "transactional marriage in so many ways," as they both gained a lot from it.
The "Melania and Me" tell-all author went further to explain what she meant by her thoughts about their marriage being "transactional" in nature.
She stated that by marrying the billionaire politician, Melania finally got to "be the Vogue cover model that she's always wanted to be."
The marriage also did Trump some good as he "was legitimized as trying to get away from that whole playboy mentality that everyone wanted to characterize him as."
