Donald Trump won't be getting any votes from Chrissy Teigen, as she does not want him anywhere near the White House.
The "Lip Sync Battle" alum recently sat down with her husband, John Legend, for a candid interview about their political views. The power couple claim they may be in danger if the former president regains his post.
Chrissy Teigen has been at odds with Donald Trump for years, going viral for boldly insulting him after he called her husband "boring."
Chrissy Teigen Fears The Repercussions Of Her Tweets Against Donald Trump
This year's Cannes Lions saw Teigen and Legend sitting down for a live recording of the podcast "On with Kara Swisher" as a part of the annual film festival. The model reflected on her past criticism of Trump and why she thought they could pose a problem today.
With Trump working hard to regain his status as President of the United States, Teigen was worried his attention may turn to her if he secured the White House position. She believed her past tweets, especially her infamous 2019 words, might come back to haunt her.
"It's also kind of scary because it's, 'Oh, he's aware of me,'" Teigen said, "What could really happen because of that? We obviously know he's unhinged, but could he actually come after you in other ways? It's a weird feeling."
Legend echoed his wife's worries, telling fans that if they needed a reason not to vote for Trump, they should consider his family's safety. He stressed that they were one of many reasons the former POTUS should not "come within a mile of the White House again," per DEADLINE.
Teigen Plans To Remain Politically Active Despite Her Fear
Although they were apprehensive about Trump's possible retaliation, it was not enough to scare Teigen and Legend from participating in politics. The power couple stressed that they would continue to share their views even if they did not resonate with others.
"We're going to be active. We're going to the White House on the way home from here, and we're going to support President Biden," Legend declared, noting he was confident his words would affect his TV gig.
"[I'm] sure some fans won't vote for my team on The Voice because they don't agree with my politics, but I'm fine with it," the Grammy-winning artist claimed, adding:
"People know what they're getting with me. I stand for what I stand for. It's been consistent for a long time."
Teigen agreed, stating: "They're going to hate you either way, so you might as well be okay sleeping at night." She also shared that her outspoken nature could cause problems for the brands associated with her.
Teigen's Viral Tweet Resurfaced At A Congress Hearing
In February 2023, Teigen gained renewed attention over her beef with Trump after her viral 2019 tweet came up at a congress meeting. The Blast reported that her clapback against the former president was read at the House Republicans' hearing on Twitter (now known as X).
A short clip of the moment captured former Twitter employee Anika Collier Navaroli apologizing to congress members for the crude language she was about to use. Then she read Teigen's infamous tweet that called Trump a "p-ssy ass b-tch."
The former POTUS sparked Teigen's insults when he tweeted about her "boring" husband and described her as his "filthy-mouthed" wife. Having her words resurface at the House hearing was the highlight of the media personality's day, who commented, "I don't know how to go on after this."
Chrissy Teigen Slammed Trump Following Raid On His Mar-A-Lago Home
As stated, the beef between Teigen and Trump has been ongoing for years, with the media personality happily reacting to the investigation into the politician's life. In 2022, The Blast shared that the 78-year-old was under the Justice Department's radar.
They were looking into Trump's involvement in overturning the 2020 national election, and their investigations led to a raid on his Mar-A-Lago home in Florida. The former president slammed their actions in a statement, claiming it was a sign of "dark times" for the country.
However, Teigen, pregnant at the time, begged to differ. She shared an ultrasound of her baby on her Instagram Story, with the little one appearing to give a thumbs-up and quipped: "Me hearing the FBI raided mar a lago."
Trump Maintained His Lead Over Joe Biden In The Polls
Despite undergoing a criminal trial, Trump had a significant advantage over President Joe Biden, according to poll results in April. He received 49% support from registered voters, while his opponent had 43%.
In a previous poll conducted in January, Biden garnered 45% support from voters but still could not go head-to-head with Trump's steady 49%. These numbers, per CNN, might be influenced by the varying views on the duo's presidencies.
55% of all Americans reportedly see Trump's presidency as a success, while 44% see it as a failure. Meanwhile, 61% believe Biden's reign has been a failure, while 39% argue it has been a success.
