Donald Trump Flubs His Doctor's Name In Major Gaffe As He Questions Joe Biden's Mental Acuity

Donald Trump experienced a major "self-own" during a speech where he questioned President Joe Biden's mental acuity.

The former president challenged Biden to take a cognitive test just like he did but mixed up the name of the doctor who administered it.

Donald Trump's critics have wasted no time seizing upon the gaffe and mocking him on social media for the mistake.

Trump's recent attempt to mock Biden at an event for the right-winged group Turning Point Action in Detroit, Michigan, backfired spectacularly as he made a shocking gaffe during his speech.

At first, the billionaire mogul claimed that Biden was unfamiliar with the meaning of the term "inflation."

He then poked fun at Biden's mental acuity by suggesting that the president should undergo a "cognitive test" similar to the one he took back in 2018 during his time in the White House.

However, when he attempted to commend himself for passing the test at that time, he mixed up his then-doctor's name, referring to him as "Ronny Johnson" instead of Ronny Jackson.

"I think [Biden] should take a cognitive test like I did," Trump said during his speech. "Doc Ronny Johnson. Does everyone know Ronny Johnson, [a] congressman from Texas? He was the White House doctor, and he said I was the healthiest president, he feels, in history, so I liked him very much indeed immediately."

Trump's critics quickly took to social media to give him a taste of his own medicine, pointing out his hypocrisy for mocking Biden's cognitive abilities while he himself appeared to have memory issues.

Joe Biden's campaign team shared a video of the moment on X, highlighting Trump's error.

The team wrote, "Trump: I think Biden should take a cognitive test. My doctor, Ronny Johnson. Ronny Johnson, do you know him? (His name is Ronny Jackson)"

An X user remarked, "Dementia Don can't even remember Ronny JACKSON!! Not Johnson!!"

The criticisms of Trump flooded in after Biden's camp shared the video of the moment on X.

Someone wrote, "You cannot make this S--T up. Orange Turd challenges Joe Biden to a cognitive test, while, in the same breath, forgets his doctor's name. Will any right wing entities point this out? No, but if Biden takes 1 step in either direction he must have dementia. Cultist Klan cowards."

Another user commented, "Trump's family should stage an intervention and he should withdraw from the race. He has become increasingly erratic. Trump's former advisers say he is a shell of his former self."

A third X user penned, "Trump doesn't even know the name of the guy who, he claimed, praised his cognitive abilities."

One more person wrote, "Lol. Omg. What a total self-own. LOLOLOL. It's Ronny JACKSON. WHO needs a cognitive test?"

The former president turned 78 last Friday and reportedly marked the celebration at an event among members of the "Club 47 USA" fan club at the Palm Beach County Convention Center in West Palm Beach.

The club is said to be near the billionaire mogul's Mar-a-Lago home, and tickets were sold for $25 to $60.

Sources close to the former president said this year's celebration was not low-key because it occurred amid his re-election campaign.

"Donald doesn't like to make a big deal about his birthday because he says he is forever young and feels great," one of the insiders told People magazine. "This year he is heavily campaigning for president so things are a bit more pronounced."

Another source said, "He normally does a family thing for his birthday in a low-key manner, but this year is different…. It's good for his campaign to do this as well as raise money, which is bloodsport with him."

For Biden and his campaign team, Trump's 78th birthday milestone was an opportunity to take another swipe at the MAGA leader.

First was a tongue-in-cheek birthday message on X with the words, "Happy 78th birthday, Donald. Take it from one old guy to another: Age is just a number. This election, however, is a choice."

The president then went on the offensive with a side-by-side video that sarcastically compared their achievements.

He claimed that his rival "personally dismantled the Roe v. Wade" law on abortion while he was "fighting to restore it."

He also mentioned that Trump "gave tax to Big Pharma" while he had instead "lowered the price of prescription drugs."

Meanwhile, Trump seemingly responded to the message by criticizing Biden's harsh stance on crypto during a special address on his birthday.

The billionaire mogul said, "We will ensure that the future of crypto and the future of Bitcoin will be made in America; we're going to keep it right here, and a lot of it is going to be done right here in Florida."
