Tori Spelling Slams 'Totally False' Report That She 'Trashed' Rental Home, Landlord Defends Her

Tori Spelling has denied reports that she trashed a rental home, and the landlord is also defending the actress by calling the rumors absurd.
Spelling admitted on her podcast that while she tends to have a "chaotic" life with her five kids, she would never damage property. She added that they now have a permanent residence after living in various places following her split from Dean McDermott.
Tori Spelling and her children were spotted at various locations, including rentals plagued by mold, an RV, and a motel.
Tori Spelling Refutes Rental Home Trashing Reports
On a recent episode of her "MisSpelling" podcast, Spelling firmly denied allegations that she "completely trashed" the rental home she recently vacated.
To address the claims reported by the Daily Mail, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" actress invited her former landlord and temporary housing manager, Katie, on her podcast.
During the chat, Spelling stated that it was "totally false" that she had left the home in disarray, with urine odors and damage to the walls, as alleged by the publication.
Katie supported Spelling's account, explaining that the furniture seen outside the property was "a couple of years old" and its disposal was unrelated to Spelling and her five children.
According to Page Six, the landlord praised Spelling as an excellent tenant, gushing: "You've been a great tenant, and I have nothing but good things to say about you and my experience with you."
Katie noted that she found the rumors absurd, adding: "I've never seen anything so ridiculous in my life. We replace furniture all the time in these properties. … This is actually crazy to me that anybody would take the time to take pictures of a debris pickup from the city."
Tori Spelling Admits She's Not The 'Cleanest Or Most Organized'
Continuing the chat, Spelling admitted that she isn't the "cleanest or most organized person." She described her life with her children, Liam, 17, Stella, 16, Hattie, 12, Finn, 11, and Beau, 7, as "messy" and "chaotic."
However, the mom of five emphasized, "We lead with our hearts, and I would never trash somebody's property. … Putting out false stories is just incredibly awful and hurtful on a really deep level to people."
She added that while she "usually [doesn't] say anything" on such matters, she found the rental home accusations "too much" and felt compelled to respond as a mother.
Spelling and her former landlord then wondered about the "neighbor" who allegedly told the publication that the actress wouldn't get her $7,500 security deposit back.
"I'd be shocked if that covered all the damages," the anonymous source falsely claimed, adding, "It would cost at least that much to just replace the two couches."
Tori Spelling Denies Hints At New Permanent Residence
During the episode, Spelling also shared that she and her children, whom she shares with her estranged husband, Dean McDermott, now have a "permanent residence." However, she did not provide any further details.
The disclaimer comes after Spelling vacated the $15,000-a-month five-bedroom, three-bath home in the west San Fernando Valley just four months after signing the lease.
A former neighbor who spoke to the Daily Mail falsely blamed Spelling for the house getting "completely trashed" and requiring a clean-up crew to fill a "big dumpster" multiple times.
"Let's just say I doubt she'll be getting her security deposit back," they told the news outlet. The alleged neighbor further claimed that the "smell of urine is everywhere, on the couch cushions and inside the home. There are marks all over the walls, from who knows what."
Tori Spelling's Temporary Residences Since Split From Estranged Husband Dean McDermott
The recently vacated property was the fourth place Spelling and her kids had lived since she separated from McDermott in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.
Spelling and her five children have resided in various places, including two long-term rentals, a motel, and an RV. One rental reportedly had a mold infestation, and the other was evacuated due to a hostage situation.
After leaving the motel and RV, Spelling and her five children moved into a "fully furnished rental home" in Woodland Hills, costing $18,000 per month. However, they left a week later when a nearby hostage situation forced a SWAT team to evacuate them.
The Actress And Her Estranged Husband Still Owe City Bank Over $200K
According to Us Weekly, City Bank filed documents on May 20, seeking a default judgment of $219,796.66 from Spelling and $202,066.10 from McDermott.
The ex-couple's debt accumulated interest over the years, with a reported balance of $188,803.38 in 2016, which they stopped paying.
The "Beverly Hills, 90210" alum, who had $88,731.25 seized from her bank account by American Express in 2020, recently discussed her financial struggles on her iHeart Radio podcast, "misSPELLING."
She revealed that her iHeartRadio producer, Amy Sugarman, saved two of her storage units from auction at the last minute.
"Sh-t, you guys. I don't think this is anything that I actually need... It's all Dean's stuff," she lamented in April. "I am so sad right now. I just wanted to get my memorabilia and my kids' stuff, and this is nothing that we need. $971 for f-cking sh-t. Oh my God, talk about getting screwed. Like, what the f-ck?"
