Gisele Bundchen and her jiu-jitsu instructor boyfriend Joaquim Valente have reportedly broken up and reports claim her ex-husband, Tom Brady's roast, may have caused the breakup.
The supermodel allegedly blames her ex-husband for putting a "target" on Valente's back and the jokes about her.
When she initially confirmed their relationship, Gisele Bundchen stated that she never cheated on Tom Brady with Joaquim Valente. Despite that, the topic still came up during the roast, which also included jokes that "affected" his kids.
Gisele Bundchen's Relationship With Joaquim Valente Is Reportedly Over
Bundchen and her boyfriend/jiu-jitsu trainer Valente are reportedly broken up.
The couple decided to split due to tension in their relationship, which was allegedly caused by Bundchen's ex-husband Brady's Netflix roast special.
Insiders revealed the news of their split to InTouch Weekly on Wednesday.
Bundchen and Valente were last spotted together in Florida earlier this year, on their way to his workout studio. However, the stress of their public romance dampened their relationship, especially with the jokes about them made at Brady's roast.
A source said, "The spotlight was too much for him. Joaquim's a regular guy. He's not used to all the attention he was getting. Joaquim became part of the joke. People actually started asking him if he was the reason for their divorce. He hated that."
Gisele Bundchen 'Blames' The Split On Tom Brady And His Roast
The source further told InTouch that Bundchen believes that if Brady never agreed to the roast, her relationship would still be solid.
They said, "She blames the break on Tom. By agreeing to do the roast, he basically put a target on Joaquim's back."
The supermodel was reportedly "deeply disappointed" by the many jokes made about her during Brady's roast. These included shock jokes about Bundchen alone and her romance with Valente.
One of comedian Nikki Glaser's jokes included, "Tom, the only thing dumber than you saying 'yes' to this roast was when you said, 'Hey babe, you should try jiu-jitsu.'"
At the time of the special, a source told People magazine that Bundchen was very upset and "deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family on Sunday evening's roast show."
They added, "As always, [Gisele's] priority is to support her children who were affected by the irresponsible content that was broadcasted."
The Supermodel Was 'Upset' That Tom Brady Once Again Put 'Football' Before Family With His Roast
A close source to the supermodel told Page Six that Bundchen felt her past wounds from the split had been reopened "once again" and that she had expected her ex not to condone a disrespectful portrayal of their marriage.
The insider also shared that Bündchen was hurt when she saw Brady defend his former football team's owner but remained passive amid jabs aimed at her.
This act from the former Tampa Bay Buccaneers star allegedly reinforced her belief that he continues to prioritize football over family, a belief that was rumored to have contributed to their split after 13 years of marriage.
Gisele Bundchen Has Denied Cheating On Tom Brady With Joaquim Valente
Bundchen officially confirmed her relationship with Valente during an interview with the New York Times.
The supermodel also stated that she never cheated on Brady with Valente or anyone else. Bundchen further expressed her concerns about the many misconceptions about her personal life.
She said, "This is something that happens to a lot of women who get blamed when they have the courage to leave an unhealthy relationship and are labeled as being unfaithful... Of course, for me, it just happens to be a little bit amplified."
During the interview, Bundchen emphasized that she never wants to make her life into a "tabloid" for the press.
Tom Brady Regrets Doing The Netflix Roast Special
After the backlash from the roast, Brady appeared on "The Pivot" podcast and said he regretted agreeing to do the special because it affected his kids.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion explained that he preferred the jokes to be only about him and that they were "so fun" until his kids became a topic.
He said, "It's the hardest part about, like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way, and then all of a sudden you realize, 'I wouldn't do that again,' because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world."
He continued, "So it makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you're naïve, you don't know, or you get a little like, 'Oh sh-t!'"
