Taylor Swift Criticized For Bikini Choice In Polka-Dot Swimwear

Taylor Swift proved her swimwear queen status earlier this year as the yellow bikini she wore with boyfriend Travis Kelce in The Bahamas became a summer must-have, but it looks like some people aren't too keen on her swimsuit choices. In January, a fan on X (formerly Twitter) threw shade at the 34-year-old as they posted a throwback snap of her, one showing her enjoying an ocean moment with former boyfriend Connor Kennedy. Taylor dated Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s son for a few short months in 2012.

Wearing her light locks tied back and looking ahead, Taylor offered the cameras a low-key PDA as she held Connor's hand, with fans seeing him shirtless in swim trunks. At the time of the photos, Taylor was 22 years old. She and Connor had chosen Cape Cod, Massachusetts for their vacation. The user sharing the photo didn't seem to be a fan of Connor or Taylor's high-waisted bikini.

"Remember when Taylor Swift was dating Conor Kennedy, RFK Jr’s son? I don’t know what is more tragic: all those Kennedy deaths or her bikini," they wrote. It looks like users elsewhere were also raising eyebrows over Taylor's choice of boyfriend. "This 'relationship' is quite strange and creepy. The Kennedys are a strange lot, she should end this relationship before she gets in to deep with this clan," one user wrote as The Daily Mail shared the August 2012 snaps.

Nobody was shading Tay-Tay in this Fourth of July snap. In fact, MTV even shared a link on X, offering fans the chance to shop similar looks. The photo dates back to 2016, when Taylor threw her annual Fourth of July party and invited models Gigi Hadid and Cara Delevingne.

Taylor has even opened up about how she chooses her clothes. Speaking to Glamour, the Grammy winner revealed: "When I'm getting dressed, it's always based on what my friends will think. They are my number one priority, and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life." With her $1.3 billion net worth, Taylor Swift can likely afford to shop as many outfits as she likes.
