Duane "Dog" Chapman made a rare, but brief, public comment following his wife's death.

Beth Chapman passed away from cancer on June 26, and ever since her husband, Dog, has been devastated.

On Wednesday, he took time to talk to Radar Online from Colorado and said he can't bring himself to go back to Hawaii yet.

“Hawaii is off limits to my heart at the moment!”

He's been in Colorado since Beth's memorial service there last month.

To keep his mind off the grief, Dog has buried himself in work:

“I don’t know what to do. As long as I stay bounty hunting it’s the only thing that keeps my mind off how things are right now. I just have to keep working!"

He says most of the family has gone back to Hawaii, but he's not totally alone:

“Being alone is really bad. I sent most of the family home [to Hawaii] but I have [our two youngest children] Bonnie Jo and Garry boy here.”

Dog says he's just taking each day as it comes. He's also keeping busy by putting the final touches on "Dog's Most Wanted," which airs on WGN in September.
