Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift first linked in the summer of 2023 and have seemingly been going strong ever since.
The two went public in September 2023 after Taylor arrived at a Kansas City Chiefs game to cheer on Travis and the team. Afterward, they were spotted holding hands as they left the stadium.
Despite their connection, a source claims Travis Kelce "has major pangs of jealousy" over Taylor Swift's backup dancers.
Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift Begin Dating
The NFL world took over the media last year after Taylor Swift made her first appearance at a Kansas City Chiefs game alongside Travis Kelce's mom, Donna. While this was their way of going public, the two were linked months before that, meeting privately since July 2023.
“We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she told TIME during her Person of the Year interview last year. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
The two haven't avoided the media since they've been spotted on multiple dates, attending each other's NFL games and concerts, and flaunting their PDA while on the beach and at parties.
While the two are seemingly strong, reports claim Travis is "jealous" of Taylor's male backup dancers.
Travis Kelce Allegedly Jealous Of Taylor Swift's Male Backup Dancers
According to an unnamed source, Travis Kelce is a "macho, Alpha-male guy" and gets "triggered pretty easily."
“He trusts Taylor, but that doesn’t mean he’s fine seeing her surrounded by all these hot guys,” the source told Life & Style. “He’s a very macho, Alpha-male guy; his ego gets triggered pretty easily, and even if these guys don’t stand a chance with her, he still has major pangs of jealousy, especially when he sees her getting showered with attention by them.”
They added that Travis "comes from the old-school mentality where other men are automatically competition, so of course, this gets under his skin, even if they do work for her. You can bet he’ll be pushing for her to hire nothing but female dancers for her next tour.”
Travis Kelce has yet to comment on these claims.
Inside Taylor Swift's Taste Of Music
In April 2024, Travis Kelce gushed over his girlfriend, especially with her taste in music.
"It's definitely been fun to experience her taste in music, for sure," the NFL star told Entertainment Tonight. "She's so amazing at what she does. And to find that creativity to see where she likes to pull things from and just, really, how she listens to music is very eye-opening for me. It's been fun to hear her take on it."
Travis has also attended a handful of Taylor Swift's concerts, which he said has been a whirlwind.
"Man, I'll tell you what. The London shows, I think she's at Wembley eight times, which is mind-blowing that she can do that many shows in one stadium and fill that thing up," he expressed. "I played at Wembley once and I don't even think we filled that thing up."
Both Are 'Career-Driven'
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are both huge stars, so with that can come a lot of pressure. Despite their busy schedules, Travis says they will continue to "support" one another.
"We're both very career-driven. We both love what we do, and any chance that I can show my support to her," he told ET. "And knowing that she's showing me all the support in the world throughout the season -- it's just been an amazing experience getting to know Tay."
'I'm Protective For Sure'
The jealousy accusations come months after Travis Kelce admitted to being "protective" over Taylor Swift.
"Have you had to enact any security of your own? Do you feel like you're a security guard when you are with Taylor?" Travis's brother, Jason Kelce, asked on an episode of their "New Heights" podcast.
"I feel like whenever I'm on a date, I'm always having the sense that I'm a man in the situation," Travis responded. "I'm protective, yeah, for sure. You always have to have that feeling or self-awareness, I guess."
