“Southern Charm” star Kathryn Dennis is detailing an incident where her ex Thomas Ravenel was so intoxicated he dropped their baby into the pool and she had to jump in to save her.
According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Dennis is fighting for primary custody of the two kids, Kensie and Saint, whom she shares with Ravenel. She is laying it all out in a newly filed declaration and is clearly preparing for the soon to come showdown.
Ravenel is attempting to gain sole custody of their kids by using an alleged positive drug test against Dennis. She has denied using marijuana and believes CBD oil caused the positive result.
Dennis claims she has been sober for two years and says Ravenel is the one who has the actual problem. She accuses Ravenel of having a drinking problem and has multiple declaration from others who back up her claim. She says when they were together he would always start drinking at 5pm (if not earlier).
Dennis then details her relationship with Ravenel and the worst moments she experienced.
In the docs, Dennis also accuses Ravenel of acting like a monster when they were together. She wrote, “I was in love with Thomas, and we would have good periods in our relationship mixed by very bad periods”. She says, “He liked to control me and when we got into arguments, typically after he had been drinking too much, and he’d throw me and Kensie out of the house late at night or in the early morning hours.”
Dennis claims their former nanny, Dawn Ledwell, gave testimony that Ravenel would not parent his kids. Ledwell testified Ravenel had Kensie overnight by himself “and he got so drunk that he put Kensie’s pajamas on over her regular clothes. He was still in bed with empty liquor bottles or wine bottles floating around the home when Dawn arrived at his house to a screaming baby – but he did make it to his polo match later in the day.”
She recalls “incidents from the early years she would like to forget” including; “the time that we had a pool party and Thomas was so drunk while holding Kensie that he fell into the pool with her as a baby and I had to jump in to grab Kensie.”
Dennis says one Christmas he threw a tree that she decorated across the room. She even recalls an alleged time when Ravenel “masturbated on my back while I was asleep because he was mad at me for rejecting his advances (because I was exhausted and pregnant)” and claims “I also discovered that he had been watching muscleman porn that night.”
Dennis accuses her ex of also tearing her outfit after filming one night, throwing a lamp at her, shattering glasses, and allegedly once throwing an astray at her face.
She is detailing all this in hopes of convincing the judge that she deserves primary custody. Dennis says she is concerned with her kids being with Ravenel saying “They need their mother.” She is also asking the court to order Ravenel not to drink around their kids.
Dennis also is seeking $5,000 a month in child support, based on her belief Ravenel makes $1-2 million a year.
Back in November 2018, Ravenel filed a lawsuit against Bravo and “Southern Charm” producers demanding a judge stop them from broadcasting unaired footage on the show.
Ravenel filed the docs as part of his custody battle with Dennis. She filed for primary custody of the children back in October. Dennis had her custody taken away in 2016 after failing a drug test but was awarded joint custody this year after completing rehab and staying clean.
In his suit against Bravo, Ravenel says the network and “Southern Charm” producers “encouraged” his ex to file for custody against him to create drama on the show.
He demanded Dennis not be awarded primary custody despite her request. Ravenel, who is about to be on trial for an alleged sexual assault in South Carolina, claimed he learned that Bravo and producers have unaired footage of his kids and ex talking about the legal battle and it was to be aired on the upcoming season. The reality star sued demanding a South Carolina judge prohibit the sensitive footage from airing on the show.
Ravenel would later file docs accusing Dennis of buying drugs from friends and show producers and even accused her of committing a hit-and-run.
A judge has yet to rule. Ravanel has demanded sole custody of the two kids.
