Donald Trump's guilty verdict in his New York hush money trial has caused an unexpected ripple effect on his personal life, reuniting his family members like never before.
Trump's family has reportedly rallied around him to show their support, with sources noting that the guilty verdict has even led to a "thaw" in the frosty relationship between his daughter, Ivanka, and wife, Melania.
Donald Trump, the convicted GOP candidate, recently admitted that the trial had taken a toll on his family, especially on his wife, Melania.
The Guilty Verdict Has Brought Melania And Ivanka Trump Closer
The former president's family members have seemingly put aside their differences and are rallying around their patriarch as he awaits his sentencing on July 11.
Trump was found guilty of 34 count charges for falsifying company records to cover up a hush money payment made to former adult film star Stormy Daniels.
According to Page Six, a source disclosed that the verdict has now "brought the entire family closer together than they have ever been," including "a thaw in the sometimes chilly and tense relationship between Melania and Ivanka."
"The entire family including all Trump's children, and their [significant others, including Don Jr.'s fiancee] Kimberly Guilfoyle are all circling the wagons," the source added.
Trump's lead legal counsel, Todd Blanche, has already said they plan to appeal the verdict as soon as possible. However, the tipster noted that the guilty verdict has "really taken a toll on him" and that Trump is "hurting inside."
The Family Is Using Donald Trump's 'Secret Garage Entrance
Melania and Ivanka sparked controversy throughout Trump's trial by distancing themselves from the case. Neither of them appeared in court to show support for the ex-president.
In an interview with Fox News, the billionaire politician weighed in on the verdict's negative effect, admitting that it must be "very hard" for Melania especially and that "in many ways, it's tougher on them [his family] than it is on me."
Regardless, the former first daughter, ex-first lady, and son Barron are now understood to be using the secret elevator in his Trump Tower property to be with him.
"The family is using Trump Tower's secret garage entrance and an elevator that takes them with no stops directly to his penthouse," the source told Page Six.
They added, "Words of support have overridden any past tension as the family comes together. The family has closed ranks and is behind the campaign. Friends say they haven't seen the family on the same page like this since his inauguration years ago."
The Former President's Children Showed Support After His Guilty Verdict
After her father's conviction, Ivanka showed support for her father with a short message.
The former presidential adviser, who has remained mostly silent during the trial, shared a childhood photo of herself with Trump on her Instagram Stories, captioning it, "I love you dad."
Donald Trump Jr., the ex-president's eldest son, speaking to ABC News, defended his father following the guilty verdict and blamed Trump's political opponents.
"The Democrats have succeeded in their years-long attempt to turn America into a third-world s---hole," he said. He emphasized the importance of the upcoming presidential election, stating, "Nov. 5 is our last chance to save it."
The former president's middle son, Eric Trump, also took to X to assert that the guilty verdict would ultimately benefit Trump in the November election. "May 30th, 2024 might be remembered as the day Donald J. Trump won the 2024 Presidential Election," he wrote.
Donald Trump Raised A Fortune Following The Verdict
Trump's conviction is seemingly turning out to be a blessing in disguise, as his campaign trail has seen a spike in donations since the record-breaking verdict.
According to the New York Post, the former president and the Republican National Committee recorded a staggering $141 million in donations last month, with $53 million of that coming in in the first 24 hours after the verdict.
The breakdown of the funds showed that over 2 million individual donations were received, with an average of $70.27, and 25% of them were first-time donors.
"We are moved by the outpouring of support for President Donald J. Trump. The American people saw right through Crooked Joe Biden's rigged trial and sent Biden and Democrats a powerful message – the REAL verdict will come on November 5th," Trump's Campaign senior advisers, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, shared.
"President Trump raised $141 million this month because Americans remember the roaring economy, secure border, and peace through strength at home and abroad under Donald J. Trump, and we will return to prosperity and success when he is re-elected in November," they added.
Is Donald Trump Planning Revenge On His Political Opponents If Re-Elected?
Trump's conviction means that he becomes the first US former president to be convicted of felony crimes, but it's not expected that he'll pull out of the race to be president again.
He referred to the trial as a "witch hunt" that's politically motivated and has now alluded to the possibility of getting back at his opponents.
In a conversation with conservative US outlet Newsmax, the 77-year-old politician claimed that "it's very possible" his political opponents would face prosecution if he wins reelection into the Oval Office.
"It's a terrible precedent for our country. Does that mean the next president does it to them? That's really the question," he said.
Trump went on, "So, you know, it's a terrible, terrible path that they're leading us to, and it's very possible that it's going to have to happen to them."
