Brad Pitt's Daughter, Shiloh Allegedly Paid For Her Own Lawyer To Drop Her Dad's Surname

Brad Pitt's daughter, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, independently hired a lawyer to drop "Pitt" from her surname upon turning 18. While Pitt remains hopeful about reconnecting with Shiloh, allegations from a 2016 incident and a lengthy custody battle have strained their relationship.

Pitt's efforts to bond, such as creating a skate park and art studio for the kids, have not been successful. Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie and her children remain close, with Jolie accusing Pitt of abuse, which he denies.

Shiloh Jolie-Pitt dropping Brad Pitt's name on her eighteenth birthday has raised many questions about the cause of the actor's strained relationship with his six children.

According to the DailyMail, Pitt's daughter Shiloh independently took the initiative to hire and fund her own lawyer to legally remove Pitt from her surname "Jolie-Pitt" upon turning 18 on May 27.

A source familiar with the situation told the outlet, "Shiloh hired her own lawyer and paid for it herself, so Angie doesn't know and can't speak for it. But, if you're asking if this is connected to the abuse history or the violation of Shiloh's victim's rights, yes, that's part of it."

Previously, a source close to Pitt disclosed to the outlet that he remains hopeful about reconnecting with Shiloh now that she is an adult and can independently decide the nature of their relationship.

"Now that Shiloh is 18, she can make up her mind as far as how she wants her relationship with her father to develop," the source said.

The source also noted that the "Bullet Train" star will continue to love Shiloh "unconditionally," no matter her decision. "The difference now is that Shiloh is the one making the choice," they said.

Pitt may have little chance of reconciling with his children after a 2016 disputed private jet confrontation.

An FBI report on the incident, published in 2022, saw Jolie accuse Pitt of physical assault during a flight to California. The "Maleficient" actress claimed that Pitt grabbed her by the head and shoulders, shaking her while yelling, "You're f--king up this family."

The report also accused Pitt of punching the jet's ceiling, snarling at his children, and pouring beer on his estranged wife. Additionally, the "Fight Club" actor was accused of attacking one of their children on the plane but was later cleared of wrongdoing by the LAPD.

Since the infamous jet plane fight and their subsequent split, Pitt and Jolie have been embroiled in a lengthy custody battle, which initially ended with the actor gaining 50-50 custody in 2021, only for it to be overturned on appeal. A judge also ordered "reunification therapy" for Pitt and the kids.

Pitt has reportedly also made efforts to bond with his children, setting up a skate park and an art studio at his home to reflect Shiloh's interests. He also arranged cars and security to transport the children from Jolie's home to his during custody visits.

Unfortunately, these efforts have not brought them closer. Pitt's son Pax criticized him harshly on Farher's day in 2020, calling him a "world-class a--hole."

In an unearthed Instagram post, he shared a picture of the actor receiving an Oscar and wrote, "Happy Father's Day to this world-class a--hole. You time and again prove to be a terrible and despicable person."

He continued: "You have no consideration or empathy toward your four youngest children, who tremble in fear in your presence. You have made the lives of those closest to me a living hell. You may tell yourself and the world whatever you want, but the truth will come to light someday."

"So Happy Father's Day, you f--king awful human being!" he concluded, per The Blast.

Pitt and Jolie's six children, Maddox, 22, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, have formed a close-knit group with their mother.

Last year, Jolie described her children as "the closest people to me in my life, and they're my close friends. We had to heal. There are things we needed to heal from."

Furthermore, while the kids have frequently walked red carpets with their mother, none of them have done the same with Pitt, even though he often expresses pride in his biological daughter, Shiloh.

Apart from Shiloh, Pitt's other daughters, Zahara and Vivienne, have also stopped using his last name, although they haven't taken legal steps like Shiloh.

A source told the DailyMail that Pitt's estranged relationship with his six kids remains a source of "sadness" in the movie star's life.

"This is the result of textbook parental alienation, and it is a great sadness in his life," the source claimed. "There have been years and years of (Angelina) telling and retelling the same lies about (Brad) and the reality is that she has alienated the kids, and the reality is that it is upsetting to Brad. He cares about all of them. It is devastating."

The insider added that fatherhood was immensely significant to Pitt, and the 60-year-old may consider starting a family with his girlfriend, Ines de Ramon, 31, who lives with him.
