Donald Trump Banned From Visiting 37 Countries As A Convicted Felon

Former President Donald Trump is now a convicted felon after he was found guilty of all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.

The 77-year-old was on trial related to a 2016 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. On Thursday, May 30, 2024, the jury read the historical guilty verdict, making Trump the first President to be a convicted felon.

Following the guilty verdict, former President Donald Trump has been banned from visiting 37 countries.

Following two days of deliberation, a New York jury reached a verdict, finding Trump guilty on all 34 charges linked to a $130,000 payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. The prosecution concluded that Daniels received the payment as "hush money" in relation to a 2006 encounter with Trump to influence the results of the 2016 election.

His sentencing is scheduled for July 11, just days before Republicans are set to pick Trump as the 2024 nominee.

With Donald Trump found guilty on all charges in his Manhattan hush money trial, he still faces criminal charges in three other cases, including two for allegedly attempting to illegally overturn the 2020 election he lost to President Joe Biden.

According to World Population Review, Donald Trump is banned from visiting thirty-eight nations as a convicted felon.

To visit another country, one must obtain a visa. Some countries do not allow people with felony criminal records to obtain a visa, so they cannot visit.

Argentina, Australia, Canada, China, Cuba, India, Iran, Israel, Japan, Kenya, Macau, New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States are the countries that don't allow convicted felons to enter.

The countries that will deny entry if it’s discovered you are a convicted felon are Brazil, Cambodia, Chile, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Ireland, Malaysia, Mexico, Morocco, Nepal, Peru, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Tanzania, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine, and United Arab Emirates.

Some countries do not routinely check criminal records at the border, but they can deny entry if they find out an individual is a convicted felon.

In addition to travel restrictions, the 77-year-old may also be banned from owning a gun, but he can still run for President.

Moments after the verdict was read, Donald Trump spoke to the press outside the courthouse, claiming the "whole country is being rigged right now."

"We are a nation in decline, serious decline of people pouring into our country right now. From prisons and from mental institutions. Terrorists and they're taking over our country," the former President added. "We have a country that's in big trouble, but this was a rigged decision right from day one. With a conflicted judge who should have never been allowed to try this case never. And we will fight for our constitution."

The 77-year-old faces a fine of up to $5,000 and up to four years in prison for each of the 34 felony counts he was convicted of. He has since stated he will be appealing.

Donald Trump then blamed the Biden administration.

"A political opponent and I think it's just a disgrace, and we'll keep fighting, we'll fight till the end, and we'll win because our country has gone to hell. We don't have the same country anymore, we have a divided mess," he added.

Shortly thereafter, Biden-Harris Communications Director Michael Tyler released a statement. "In New York today, we saw that no one is above the law."

"Donald Trump has always mistakenly believed he would never face consequences for breaking the law for his own personal gain," he added. "But today's verdict does not change the fact that the American people face a simple reality. There is still only one way to keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office: at the ballot box. Convicted felon or not, Trump will be the Republican nominee for President."

Two days after becoming a convicted felon, Donald Trump attended UFC 302, which took place at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Trump has attended multiple UFC events in the past as he is close friends with UFC President Dana White. “I’ve been friends with this guy for 20 years, and when he shows up to the fights… The guy is a fight fan. He’s been a fight fan,” White said of Trump in February.

When the former President stepped into the building, he was welcomed by fans and celebrities. "There is no denying it. He is The People’s Champion," one X user shared after seeing Trump at UFC 302.

"Like a boss," another said.

Joe Rogan was also seen fist-bumping the 77-year-old after he arrived.
