Earlier this year, Gypsy Rose dropped the bombshell that she and Ryan were going through a separation.

"Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parent's home down the bayou," she said at the time. “I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now, I need time to let myself find… who I am.”

Now, two months after revealing where her marriage stands, she is speaking out about her divorce, claiming it is "heartbreaking."

Gypsy Rose Blanchard sat down with PEOPLE Magazine to speak out about her estranged marriage, calling it "hard" and "heartbreaking."

“It’s heartbreaking because no one gets married to get a divorce," she told the outlet. "Processing those emotions has been hard.” She further explained that she felt "lost" in her marriage and decided to separate to "reclaim" the missing piece.

“I’d describe the Gypsy-Rose who went into prison as someone who was very lost and confused,” the 32-year-old said. “Now she’s a little bit more wise, has a little bit more experience under her belt, and is still very hopeful for the future.”

"I think that there is a sense of freedom of following your heart, following what you feel like is right for you," she explained of her new outlook on life. "In my marriage, I felt like a part of me was lost in it, and so I feel like I found that missing piece of myself that I always felt was lost and now reclaiming that back. I definitely feel a sense of belonging in that space."

Not only did she speak out about her decision to separate from Ryan, but she also admitted to loving him, seemingly shutting down fans' speculation regarding the relationship timeline and her intentions with him.

"I did love Ryan," she told the outlet, claiming the marriage was not fake and her feelings were real.

Shortly after announcing their separation, Gypsy was spotted hanging out with her ex-finance, Ken Urker, to whom she got engaged before meeting Ryan. While the two initially claimed to be friends, Gypsy has since confirmed they are a couple again.

“I’m in love,” she told PEOPLE of her relationship with Ken. “He was a support when I was going through emotional hardship. But then I let myself open up to the feelings I’ve always had for him. For the first time in my life, I’m doing something that makes me happy — I’m prioritizing me.”

In 2019, she told E! News the story of how she and Ken met.

"He came, and it was kind of a funny story, but within the first 30 minutes, he leaned over and gave me the most wonderful kiss of my whole life," she recalled. "The kiss he gave me was quite passionate. I looked at him and was like, 'I didn’t even know you liked me like that,' and he said, ‘Yeah, I have for a while.' And I’m like, ‘I have for a while too.'"

Earlier this year, she opened up about reconnecting with Ken following her separation from Ryan. "We have remained friends even though we had broke up back in 2019," she told E! News. "Even if it's at a distance. So it wasn't until I'm going through my divorce that we have reconnected."

She added, "We're both very hopeful for what the future has in store."
