According to authorities, Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, are guilty of scamming people out of a million dollars worth of merchandise. The arrest warrant issued in Broward County revealed the singer is facing ten charges related to the raid on his home.

These crimes include an alleged organized scheme to defraud several companies of around six figures. Kingston and Turner reportedly ripped off a jeweler, an exotic car dealer, and other businesses.

The mother and son, per the document, purchased a Cadillac Escalade worth $159,701.49 from the car dealer without paying and owed the jewelry a whopping $480,000. Kingston also has a grand theft charge over a $86,568.33 custom bed.

As recently reported by The Blast, Kingston's mother regained her freedom on Sunday around 5:54 PM. Sources from the Broward County jail confirmed her release, revealing she had been booked on eight charges.

Turner's crimes include conducting an organized scheme to defraud, grand theft, and identity theft. However, her freedom didn't come cheap, as she posted a $160,000 bond to secure her release after her bail hearing last Friday.

Meanwhile, Kingston remained behind bars at the San Bernardino County jail without bail. His extradition hearing was scheduled for Tuesday, and he would likely secure his freedom the same way his mother did.

Following his release, the 34-year-old would be sent back to Florida to face his ten charges and the aftermath of the raid on his rented mansion.

Inside The Mother & Son's Arrest

The journey to Kingston's and Turner's arrest began with the raid on the South Florida mansion the former was renting.

Following an ongoing investigation, the Broward Sheriff's Office confirmed that arrest and search warrants were served at a Southwest Ranches residence.

Authorities raided the home and arrested Turner, who was the only person at home. At the time, her son was out of the state for a performance in California, and cops issued a warrant for his arrest.

Mere hours before he was taken into custody, Kingston shot himself in the foot by claiming the situation was under control. "People love negative energy! I am good, and so is my mother! My lawyers are handling everything as we speak," he penned on Instagram.

However, police in Fort Irwin, California, took him into custody for multiple fraud and theft charges and booked him into their San Bernardino jail.

Ver Ver Entertainment Triggered The Raid On Kingston's Home

The raid on Kingston's home was a long time coming for Ver Ver Entertainment, whose attorney confirmed their involvement in the arrests. Dennis Card noted his client had been waiting for the raid for "more than two months" in a statement, saying:

"I filed a lawsuit against Sean Kingston. A detective in Broward County read my lawsuit and contacted me, and so we went down and gave, with my client, a recorded statement and an affidavit."

Ver Ver Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Kingston in February, accusing him of failing to pay for items purchased from the company.

They claimed he breached the terms of their contract by presenting "numerous false representations" about his relationship with a famous Pop singer.

In their lawsuit, Ver Ver Entertainment claimed Kingston deceived them by claiming he had a "current and ongoing working relationship" with Justin Bieber.

He allegedly promised to produce promotional videos with the "Baby" singer for the company to reduce his payments and credit toward the items he purchased from them.

However, Kingston breached the terms of the contract by having no working relationship with Bieber. Ver Ver Entertainment stressed that they repeatedly tried to collect their due payments from the singer; however, their efforts were unsuccessful.

They aren't the first to come after Kingston over debts, as The Blast reported in 2018 that the 34-year-old's music royalties were in danger.
