Miley Cyrus' Glitter Two-Piece Falls Apart While Braless

Miley Cyrus' fans likely haven't forgotten her rather exposing December 2021 moment, one making headlines for seeing her stage outfit fall apart, but also for the boss way in which she handled it all. Ushering in a New Year via a televised special, the 31-year-old pop star thrilled fans in a skimpy, barely-there two-piece in silver as she performed some of her best-known hits, but she fronted media outlets for an entirely different reason. Suffering a major wardrobe malfunction in her shredded, braless crop top and miniskirt, Miley found herself compromised as her top straight-up fell apart — it was her sense of humor, though, that won everyone over as she found a way to manage the mishap.

Delivering her power vocals for her Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party, the blonde dolled herself up to the nines with heavy makeup, sporting her blonde locks down and flaunting her many tattoos.

Everything was going great until that skimpy top proved just that little bit too skimpy. Busting open as Miley was belting out a number, the top pretty much fell down, with Miley having to handle the situation live on TV.

Grabbing her top with one hand and eventually turning around so her back faced the crowds, Miley kept on singing, but she did grab a red blazer to cover herself. Addressing the situation, the "Flowers" hitmaker told the crowd: “Everybody’s definitely looking at me now,” here referencing lyrics from her ”Party in the U.S.A.” track. “I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn onstage," she joked.

Miley intentionally stripped down for this moment during her 2023-dropped "Flowers" music video. Having kicked the video off in a vintage gold YSL dress, the singer removed her metallic gown from a backyard before diving into a swimming pool for a dip, then posing poolside in her sizzling black lingerie.

Speaking in May of last year, Miley revealed that she'd actually changed the lyrics of her smash singledom anthem.

“I wrote it in a really different way,” she shared. “The chorus was originally: ‘I can buy myself flowers, write my name in the sand, but I can’t love me better than you can.’ It used to be more, like, 1950s. The saddest song, like, ‘Sure, I can be my own lover, but you’re so much better.’” Here, Cyrus added that it was a bit "fake it 'til you make it."
