Salma Hayek gave a nod to her curves and her heritage as she snacked on a seafood feast while swimsuit-clad back in 2019. In June of that year, the 57-year-old actress thrilled her Instagram fans with a backyard snap of herself tucking into a luxurious spread, and her caption was driving fans toward the shrimp she was eating. Showing off her killer curves in a skintight red bathing suit, Salma posed from a table and chairs backing onto lawns and a fancy outdoor pool, but she kept her vibe fun by both pouting and smiling as she explained that this is how "girls from Veracruz" consume shrimp. Fans have left the House of Gucci star over 540,000 likes.

Salma Hayek Is Snacking On Shrimp In Her Skimpy Swimsuit

Scroll for the photo. Enjoying a gorgeous backyard space as she sat at a wooden table, Salma drew the eye from her eye-popping cleavage to her face as she held up her seafood while showing off the lunch she'd been served.

Modeling a clingy red one-piece with black lettering on it, the Hollywood favorite went low-cut at the chest, showing off hints of her trim tummy, plus her shapely arms. Donning shades, small clip earrings, and her dark hair tied back, Salma kept glam with a red lip, but her vibe wasn't high-brow as she held some shrimp in one hand and bit into some more seafood using the other.

With plenty of lox, lemon, varied seafood, and breadsticks on the table, Salma had definitely opted for the pricier food items, but this star knows how to treat herself. In a caption, Salma mentioned her birthplace of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, Mexico, writing: "This is how jarochas (girls from Veracruz) eat shrimp. Así es como comemos los camarones las jarochas."

Fans were quick to reply. "Bon appétit," one fan replied. "Beautiful," another wrote.

Replying in Spanish, another said: "How good that even though you are a very important woman do not forget your roots not like others." Hayek is known for being fiercely proud of her Mexican heritage, although she has revealed that her early days in Hollywood saw her turned down for roles on account of where she's from.

Hollywood Wasn't Casting Her

Speaking of the identity she was given by Hollywood — not one she liked — Salma told Variety:

"They wouldn’t even give me the auditions. We tried really hard. I said I know I can do drama, but what about romantic comedies and action comedies?” she recalls. “For them, it was like, ‘Oh, no, she’s just like a sexy Mexican.’”

"I remember there were two big comedies I auditioned for the lead. Afterwards, the directors told me that I was the best audition and that I was better than who they cast and that they regretted it. But at the time, they knew the studios wouldn’t have gone for a Mexican as the lead," she continued.
