Chelsea Houska says her husband saved her life; the "Teen Mom" star explains the story.
"Teen Mom 2" star Chelsea Houska, now Chelsea DeBoer, says she came close to death if it weren't for her husband, Cole.
She started telling her story innocently enough:
"So I want to share something that’s probably going to seem really random... but I feel like I can’t be the only person that wouldn’t have known what to do in this type of situation."
DeBoer says he was "rushing" to eat steak when she started "seriously choking," saying the food wouldn't move up or down; she couldn't swallow it either.

Fortunately, Cole was there and performed the Heimlich Maneuver and dislodged the food.
DeBoer made light of the situation, but it's clear she's also very grateful someone was there to help her when she needed it.
"A couple of weeks ago, I was rushing to eat (steak) and I started choking. SERIOUSLY choking. It would not move up & I could not swallow. Luckily, Cole was home and he performed the Heimlich and was able to get it out! All I kept thinking about was WHAT IF I had been home alone?"
"As if Cole doesn’t have to deal with enough of my s- already, he can now add saving my life from steak to that list."
Fans responded with their own stories of survival, and the Heimlich Maneuver was brought up more than once.
"I choked when I was 7 - literally went blue and my mum did it and saved my life!" said one.
"I've always been a bit anxious about choking now when alone!" said another.
DeBoer also decided to share some videos on how to perform the Heimlich Maneuver in the hopes that more people will be saved.
So I felt the need to share a video on what to do if you are ever alone and start to choke, as well as a video on how to perform the heimlich on someone else: https://t.co/W2AHDZX17z
