Jenelle Evans and David Eason won't face any animal cruelty charges over the alleged killing of her french bulldog, because the reality star said it was all a publicity stunt.
Officials in Columbus County, North Carolina have closed their investigation into the alleged killing of Nugget, which had centered around Jenelle's husband.
According to the sheriff, "Jenelle stated that the reason she filed the animal cruelty report was for the publicity and because she did not know where her dog was."
Even though Nugget has still not been accounted for, officials say, "The evidence collected indicates that the allegations of animal cruelty were fabricated."
The investigation has been officially closed and there are no charges filed.
Jenelle had originally told investigators she heard a gunshot, but during the investigation officials could not find any blood, or evidence of weapons.
As we reported, the former "Teen Mom" star was originally behind the story that Eason murdered their dog after he nipped at their 2-year-old daughter, Ensley.
In fact, sources with direct knowledge of the situation told The Blast, after Nugget nipped at 2-year-old Ensley, Eason allegedly sprung up, grabbed the dog by the throat and slammed it on the ground.
We're told Eason then began beating the dog inside the house, allegedly hitting it in the throat and throwing the french bulldog into a kitchen table.
Our source says the dog was wailing while Eason allegedly rained punches down on the animal's head, and everyone in the house was too terrified to stop him during the attack.
He then allegedly took the dog outside and shot it, but Nugget's body was never recovered.
The alleged killing was no joke, especially with authorities who temporarily took away custody from Jenelle and her husband.
The reality star was without her kids for weeks, before recently regaining custody.
