Melania Trump Reportedly Ready To Give Son Barron Space As He 'Becomes More Public'

Melania Trump is reportedly ready to give her son, Barron Trump, some space as he slowly becomes a public figure.

The Slovenian-born former model shares the teenager with former president Donald Trump and has been "zealously" protecting him since he was a minor.

She is said to be easing up on that protective stance in a bid to allow him to be his own man after he turned 18 last month.

Much about Barron's life remains unknown, as his mother has tried to keep him from the media since his birth, a fact confirmed by sources close to the family.

"While he was still a minor, she zealously protected him, and we knew very little about the details of his daily life," an insider told the DailyMail.

The insider shared that the former model is set to loosen her firm grip on her 18-year-old's life, enabling him to make more decisions for himself without her constant intervention.

They added, "I think he's allowed to make more decisions for himself now. He can invite anyone to dinner if he wishes. He's slowly becoming more public."

Still, Melania will continue to keep a close eye on him as he slowly ventures into politics, following in the footsteps of his father, Trump, who served as the 45th President of the United States from 2017 to 2021.

Over the years, Melania and Barron have been photographed together on different occasions, fueling speculation that they are very close.

According to reports, the duo relies on each other in difficult times, such as during the multiple scandals Trump has faced since he entered politics.

A source told People Magazine, "She is a doting mother to Barron and very protective of him."

The source also claimed that "Barron has always been a first priority" in the former model's life since she gave birth to him in 2006.

The insider added, "Of course, she is worried and concerned about the legal issues but she has not done anything more to protect Barron now than she ever did. She has always put him first. She is a good mother."

In March, reports emerged that Melania is concentrating on assisting Barron as he prepares to take the next step in his education.

The mother of one is reportedly aiding him in his college search, with options such as his father's alma mater, the University of Pennsylvania, being considered as potential choices.

According to a source, there is also a likelihood that Melania would move to whatever state his potential college choice is situated in.

"Melania's main job is taking care of Barron, and I think it's possible that she will follow him wherever he goes to school," the source told People. "Barron is shy and reserved, and she has been a good mother to him all of these years."

They added, "Melania is all about Barron and her family. She has always been family-oriented.. staying ahead of family issues is her priority."

Melania's concern for her son's well-being was said to be a central factor in her decision to renegotiate her prenuptial agreement with Trump earlier this year.

It was reported that the former model wanted Barron to have similar deals as the other children born to the billionaire mogul.

According to Page Six, an insider said about the prenup, "This is at least the third time Melania has renegotiated the terms of her marital agreement...  Melania is most concerned about maintaining and increasing a substantial trust for their son, Barron."

Another insider claimed that the prenup renegotiation was a concession from Trump to stop Melania from leaving after she allegedly wanted to divorce him due to his growing legal scandals.

"She practically had her bags packed, but Donald made concessions and renegotiated their prenup for at least a third time to convince her to stay," a report alleged, per Radar Online. "Now, I'm hearing she gets a guaranteed $100 million payout even if the marriage ends in divorce."

Since the start of Trump's hush money trial, Melania has been noticeably absent in court; however, sources claim the former first lady is supporting her husband in private.
