The drama between the former couple began in March when Quinn alleged her estranged husband had thrown a bag full of glass at her. The projectile missed the media personality but struck their two-year-old son, leading to Richard's arrest.

Consequently, Quinn received an emergency protective order against him, but Richard broke the law by returning to their home following his release from jail. This marked the second time authorities were called to their residence.

Further investigation saw the Los Angeles County D.A. pass the case over to the Los Angeles City Attorney's office after concluding that Richard did not meet the felony requirements. The latter could take the case since it involved criminal charges.

While it is unclear how Richard will react to the news of his misdemeanor charges, his estranged wife is a different story. Quinn's attorney, Jacqueline Sparagna, revealed they are "extremely satisfied" with the Los Angeles City Attorney's office's decision.

Sparagna claimed the misdemeanor charges are a crucial step forward in protecting Quinn and the estranged couple's son. On the topic of their child, Richard is unwilling to share custody.

Following his domestic violence incident, Richard filed for divorce, citing Hollywood's favorite reason for separation, "irreconcilable differences." He also asked for legal and sole custody of the duo's son.

Last month, The Blast reported that Quinn had received a judge's approval for a temporary restraining order against her estranged husband. This mandate meant Richard no longer had rights to their Los Angeles home.

He was required to stay 100 yards away from her, leaving only Quinn, their son, and their two Yorkshire Terriers as the only occupants. Richard was also banned from stalking, threatening, or assaulting his estranged wife and those protected under the temporary order.

However, he was allowed to contact Quinn briefly to discuss court-mandated child visitation. In her legal documents, the media personality claimed that her marriage to Richard had dissolved over their financial troubles.

According to Quinn, Richard displayed erratic behavior amid their financial woes. His troublesome actions eventually led to the domestic violence incident that allegedly injured their two-year-old son.

However, Richard vehemently denied these allegations and slammed his estranged wife with a restraining order. In his filing, he accused her of fabricating stories and claimed she caused him "emotional or physical harm."

As for the alleged domestic violence incident, Richard blamed it on Quinn's refusal to train her dogs. He claimed he confronted her after the canines peed on important documents but never threw the alleged bag filled with glass.

According to Richard's recollection, he "grabbed the trash bag from the floor and threw it to the side of the room, against the wall." He noted that no glass was in the bag, and he did not throw anything at his estranged wife and son.

Back in March, The Blast reported that Christine Quinn made her first public appearance after the domestic violence incident without her engagement ring. She was spotted at the Xerjoff Vibes and Elle Anniversary celebration event in Los Angeles.

The Netflix alum seemingly declared her estrangement from Richard by putting on a stunning display in a nude gown designed with a daring thigh-high split. As stated, she turned heads with her absent engagement ring — a jewelry reportedly worth $1.2 million.

Quinn replaced the flashy diamond with a silver band designed with a blue gem in the middle. Sources also noted that she appeared to be in high spirits while reuniting with her former "Selling Sunset" stars Nicole Young and Davina Potratz.
