Kris Jenner Shocks Family With 'Tumor' Announcement In 'The Kardashians' S5 Trailer

The teaser for "The Kardashians" season five revealed a shocking health update from Kris Jenner, who mentioned she has a cyst and a tumor.

The new season will highlight her daughters Khloe and Kim Kardashian's strained relationship. Additionally, Kendall Jenner could be seen in the trailer venting about waiting for Kylie Jenner at a photo shoot.

In the new trailer for season five of "The Kardashians," released on May 8, Kris disclosed the outcome of her recent medical examination to her daughters.

Getting emotional, the family matriarch, accompanied by her partner Corey Gamble, shared: "I had my scan. They discovered a cyst and a small tumor."

While the trailer doesn't divulge additional details about the tumor's location or its nature, it captures glimpses of the family's reactions.

Khloe appears solemn as she sits opposite Kris, while a subsequent scene shows Kendall comforting Kylie as she becomes visibly upset.

However, Kris' health isn't the only focus of the upcoming season. The spotlight also shines on Kourtney Kardashian's pregnancy journey with her and Travis Barker's son, Rocky, who is now six months old, documenting the events leading up to and following her fetal surgery.

In an emotional tribute shared on her Instagram page, Kris revealed she lost her sister younger sister, Karen Houghton, describing how much she'll be sorely missed.

"It is with the heaviest heart and deepest sadness that I share that my sister Karen passed away yesterday unexpectedly," Jenner captioned a carousel of old photos of family members posing with Houghton over the years.

"My heart aches for my mom, MJ, and my niece, Natalie," she continued. "...And I pray that God guides us all through this difficult time. Karen was beautiful inside and out."

The 68-year-old reality TV star went further to describe her late sibling as the "sweetest, kindest, the most sensitive and vulnerable and so so funny."

In another part of the trailer, tensions flare between Khloe and Kim Kardashian, promising plenty of interpersonal drama in the upcoming season.

During a conversation with Kris, the SKIMS founder reveals her frustration with Khloe, stating: No, she's just very judgmental now that Tristan [Thompson] is gone."

Khloe, in turn, reflects on the challenges of sisterhood, remarking, "Sisters can be vicious and brutal." Meanwhile, Kim voices her grievances, labeling Khloe "unbearable these days."

However, Khloe offers a different perspective on the strained relationship, suggesting that Kim's current struggles are impacting it: "You are going through a lot right now, and you're taking it out on me."

Another part of the trailer also featured an opening scene where Kendall vents about Kylie making her wait an hour for a photoshoot. Kylie playfully responds, "Whatever!" before eagerly shifting the focus to fashion week.

Recently, Kim faced a challenging evening at Netflix's live event, "The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady."

Despite being introduced by roast master Kevin Hart, she was booed by the audience, and the negative response got louder as she attempted to begin her monologue.

The booing audience comes after Kim found herself embroiled in controversy following Taylor Swift's alleged diss track, "Thank you aIMee."

The song's lyrics, particularly the first verse, appear to reference the mom of four directly, portraying her in a negative light.

Swift previously described Kim as a "bully" in a 2019 ELLE essay, writing, "In my experience, I've come to see that bullies want to be feared and taken seriously. A few years ago, someone started an online hate campaign by calling me a snake on the internet."

In January, ELLE highlighted a decline in the Kardashian family's product sales, noting they no longer sell out on launch days. Critics expressed growing pushback. Evolution also pointed out that Kim's popularity decline began with her choice to wear a Marilyn Monroe dress at the 2022 Met Gala.

At the time, the reality star was heavily criticized for the crash diet to fit in the gown and for allegations that the delicate fabric was torn, sparking concern among costume professionals about handling historical garments.

Sarah Scaturro, the chief conservator at the Cleveland Museum of Art, expressed, "I'm frustrated because it sets back what is considered a professional treatment for historic costume."

She highlighted a resolution from the '80s adding: "In the '80s, a bunch of costume professionals came together to state a resolution that historic costumes should not be worn. So I worry that colleagues in historic costume collections are now going to be pressured by important people to let them wear garments."
