Former Playboy playmate Karen McDougal recently shared a provocative bathroom photo on social media and took the chance to mock Donald Trump subtly.
The duo was alleged to have had an affair in the past, although Trump has on several occasions denied it.
McDougal may also testify at Trump's hush money trial, which centers on him covering up payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels to stop her from revealing their alleged affair in the lead-up to the 2016 presidential election.
Former Playboy Model Karen McDougal Shades Donald Trump With Raunchy Bathtub Photo
Over the weekend, McDougal took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to share a picture of herself in the bathtub, putting on display her legs amid the bubbles. However, what drew more attention was the book she placed on a mini-table over the bathtub, which had the name "catch and kill."
In recent weeks, the book's title has surfaced multiple times in Trump's hush money trial, alluding to a scenario where a publication purchases a story containing damaging information about someone and subsequently ensures it remains unpublished.
It is now being speculated that McDougal was shading the former president, whom she allegedly had an affair with for approximately ten months between 2006 and 2007. At the time, Trump was already married to his current wife, Melania Trump.
Along with the photo that featured the book, McDougal also added a cryptic caption that read, "Reflecting."
Social Media Reacts To Karen McDougal's Shady Post
In the comment section of McDougal's post, social media netizens penned their thoughts about the picture.
One person wrote, "Brutal shade. Fantastic book," while another individual commented, "Well Played."
A third person remarked, "OMG! Epic troll job by Karen McDougal. It's going to be a weekend of very little sleep for the depraved degenerate."
Another person noted, "Karen is highlighting this book about the practice of Trump and other celebrities to buy controversial stories just to "kill" them and prevent bad press. Nice comment."
Some other comments read, "Karen McDougal uses 'A picture is worth a thousand words'" and "Karen is throwing some major shade tonight. Sleep well, baby Trumpy....."
Another user wrote, "A comment on Trump and the election interference in NYC," while one more person said, "No, that's some first-class shade."
How Is Karen McDougal Connected To The Ex-President's Hush Money Trial
After McDougal's purported relationship with Trump, she entered into an agreement with American Media (AMI) in August 2016, granting publication rights to the story of her alleged affair with the billionaire mogul.
Reportedly, this agreement was a component of a broader arrangement between AMI and the Trump campaign to "catch and kill" unfavorable stories about the former president.
McDougal purportedly received $150,000 in exchange and was assured a regular wellness column in their publications, as well as being featured on two magazine covers.
Karen McDougal's Affair With Donald Trump Will Be Discussed During His Hush Money Trial
Although McDougal's $150,000 payment isn't included in the indictment against Trump, the scheme to "catch and kill" McDougal's affair allegations is expected to be discussed during the trial.
Already, the prosecution has mentioned McDougal in their opening statement, arguing that Trump sought to prevent information about his alleged affair with the former Playboy model from becoming public due to concerns about its potential impact on his candidacy for the 2016 presidential election.
Since news of her alleged affair with Trump made headlines, McDougal has kept quite a low profile and also stayed out of the spotlight.
Karen McDougal On Her Alleged Relationship With Donald Trump
In 2018, McDougal detailed her relationship with Trump in an exclusive with Anderson Cooper on CNN.
One striking revelation she made was that Trump tried to give her money after they had sex for the first time.
"After we had been intimate, he, he tried to pay me — and I actually didn't know how to take that," she told Cooper, per The New York Times. "I looked at him and said, 'That's not me, I'm not that kind of girl.'"
McDougal also said that despite being "hurt" by the offer, she went back several times for more sexual encounters with Trump. Those encounters mostly took place at the Beverly Hills Hotel. She also spent time with the former president at his other properties in California, New Jersey, and New York.
The former Playboy playmate claimed to have ended the relationship out of guilt for betraying Trump's wife, Melania.
