In her tribute, Meri shared a throwback picture of the deceased posing next to a life-sized Mickey Mouse. The snap was presumably a souvenir from Disneyland as it was signed, "Your Pal, Mickey Mouse."
Meri captioned the radiant snap with her longing for Teresa, wondering what their lives would have been like if the latter hadn't passed away from cancer in 2006. Her posthumous homage read:
"Happy birthday Sister! Gone from us for 18 years now, and I often wonder what the stolen 18 years of conversations would have looked like. One can only imagine. Miss you sister!! #effcancer."
Fans joined the TLC star in celebrating her late sister's birthday. However, many couldn't help but comment on the striking resemblance between Teresa and Meri's transgender child, Leon Brown.
"She looks so much like Leon," one IG user penned, with another agreeing: "Her and Leon look a lot alike."
The 53-Year-Old Also Lost Her Brother To Cancer

Teresa isn't the only sibling Meri has lost to cancer, as she revealed in October 2023 that her brother, Adam, had died. The entertainer's sibling passed away after making the difficult decision to stop his treatment.
She announced the heartbreaking news on Instagram with throwback pictures of Adam from their childhood alongside a grief-stricken statement that began:
"About 5 weeks ago, I got a text from my brother saying he had made the decision to not continue his chemo treatment due to the rapid progression of his cancer & deterioration of his body."
"Yesterday, Oct 5, 2023, just two months short of his 55th birthday, we lost him," Meri lamented, noting that she had bitter-sweet memories with Adam. Despite their differences, learning that he had weeks to live hit her "like a ton of bricks."
Meri also revealed that she lost her oldest brother, Marc, to heart issues in 2015. With three siblings gone, she was broken to be the only one left but remained grateful for the times they shared.
The TLC Star Addressed Her Tumultuous Relationship With Her Ex-husband

Two months after Adam's death, The Blast reported that Meri had addressed the end of her relationship with her ex-husband, Kody Brown. She shared one of her most humiliating experiences on TLC's "Sister Wives: One on One Special."
The episode showcased the aftermath of Kody's on-camera admission that he no longer considered himself married to Meri. His words sparked heated responses from the latter and former wife, Christine.
Christine labeled Kody's actions as the "most humiliating, terrible thing to live through," while Meri stressed that he should have settled their differences with a face-to-face conversation. She noted that learning about their breakup via television was both "low and uncool."
Meri Brown Noticed Kody's Emotional Detachment
During the episode, Meri confessed that Kody had let go of her emotionally long before their official separation in January 2023. She stressed that she noticed his emotional detachment over the years but had hope for their relationship.
However, Kody allegedly crushed her dreams of reconciliation with harsh words. "He's made it very clear to me that he's not interested in having any part of my life," Meri said, adding:
"He's actually used the words, 'Your life is not one that I want to insert myself into.' And so I've had to really step back and figure out me and where I am and how I move forward and not let his emotions, his thoughts, his issues at all affect me."
The Former Couple's Differences Led To Their Separation
According to Meri, her marriage to Kody went downhill over their differences. She claimed the Brown family's patriarch had ever-changing expectations that diminished her self-esteem as she struggled to meet them.
"He would ask me to do things and ask me to be a certain way or ask me to fix a certain situation, but it's not good enough," Meri confessed. She also highlighted Kody's melting of their wedding ring as a pivotal moment that marked the breakdown of their marriage.
Meri reflected on the symbolic weight of Kody's actions, saying: "Who's to say that he didn't just melt down our whole relationship in that moment? Symbolically, that's what he did to me."
