Master P Ordered to Pay Up $55k for Home He Rented for His Wife During Their Divorce

Master P's wife got evicted from a home the rap mogul rented for her during their nasty divorce and now he's on the hook for the damages she allegedly caused.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Peter and Alicia Hercz were awarded a default judgment this week against Master P and his ex-wife, Sonya Miller.

The Herczs originally sued back in 2017, claiming that Master P leased the Calabasas home in December 2013, two months after Sonya filed for divorce.

The lease was for two years and the Herczs said they made it clear that the lease could not be extended.

But they claim Sonya did not move out until March 29, 2016 and that only happened because the Herczs had her evicted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. The Herczs say they filed an unlawful detainer lawsuit against Sonya at the time and eventually were awarded a little over $10,000 in damages.

Because Sonya did not leave on time, the Herczs say they were forced to live somewhere else for the months that Sonya was in the home when she was not supposed to be there (they had sold their other home).

In addition, they claim Sonya caused damage to the home that required "significant cleaning efforts, repairs and renovations." They also claim a number of items "were no longer present" in the home when they moved back, including a wall unit, a dining room table with chairs, a washer/dryer, a flat screen television, and more.

Before filing the original lawsuit, the Herczs had their lawyers send Master P a letter, laying out their allegations. In the letter, the lawyer writes that Sonya did not move out on time, saying she told the Herczs that she "did not have enough money to find another place to move because you did not pay her any support payments as ordered by the court."

The lawyer claimed that Master P responded a week later by saying he was not responsible for any damages to the home caused by Sonya and that he believed he was released from any liability once the lease ended and they should go after Sonya instead.

The Herczs went ahead with their lawsuit and on Monday, a default judgment was levied against Master P and Sonya for $55,713.08.

The Blast reached out to a rep for Master P but they have yet to respond.

The Calabasas home in question was the subject of a dispute between the estranged couple at the start of their nasty divorce.

Sonya had claimed that Master P had her barred from the gated community where the home was located. He responded by saying he didn't want Sonya to allow her boyfriend in the house and claimed she was having crazy parties at the home.
