Reports claim that Rob Marciano's exit from ABC News was not surprising to colleagues and that the meteorologist was known to have a temper.
As The Blast previously reported, the 55-year-old was allegedly fired from the ABC network earlier this week amid allegations that he made a co-worker uncomfortable on set.
'No One That Worked With' Rob Marciano 'Is Surprised' By His Exit, Says Bombshell Report
Days after the news broke, Swetha Sharma, who previously worked at the same company as Marciano, claimed that the 55-year-old meteorologist had a reputation for having a short fuse and being easily angered.
"He was nice, but that also wasn't everyone's experience with him," Sharma told PEOPLE. "There were always stories about him [and] about his temper."
Sharma also said that while some of the staff had positive experiences working with Marciano, others who regularly worked with the meteorologist or "witnessed his behavior" were not "surprised by any of this."
Rob Marciano Reportedly Butted Heads With Ginger Zee
Furthermore, other reports claim that Marciano had an ongoing feud with 'Good Morning America''s weekday meteorologist Ginger Zee.
According to a source who spoke with The New York Post, Marciano had a “hot temper,” which caused issues with Zee, though the source claims she was equally capable of being “nasty."
“I think she brought out the worst in him. I’m not giving him a pass,” the source said. “It’s sad because they are two people who are really into the science of the weather. Unfortunately, their personalities didn’t work.”
Another source told the outlet, “She treated him as a beta and she was the alpha, but they were much more peers in terms of experience, more than Ginger was with Sam [Champion].”
Rob Marciano 'Banned' From 'Good Morning America' In March 2023
According to Page Six, Marciano was banned from 'Good Morning America' last year.
“He was found to have done something that was improper, but he was punished for it,” an insider told the outlet at the time. “He made people feel uncomfortable. There was a period where there were some issues, a number of alarming events."
The source added, "There were times when [Marciano] was very cranky and angry … unsavory behavior on his part. He was pulled off to deal with it and he’s been back."
Other ABC Staff Claims These Reports Are False
Another unnamed source who regularly worked with Marciano said otherwise, claiming the reports about his temper are completely false.
"Rob is always positive, hands-on, and never anything but professional," the source told PEOPLE. "People enjoy working with him, and he's not difficult to work with."
The source called the reports against Marciano "vicious," and they, along with other colleges, were "always happy to see they were assigned" to work with Marciano and that the "Rob Marciano being portrayed is not the Rob Marciano we know."
Rob Marciano's Wife Filed For Divorce
According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE, Rob Marciano's wife of 11 years, Eryn Marciano, filed for divorce in June 2021.
"The last couple of years have been very difficult," Marciano told the outlet at the time. "I didn't want this and tried to save the marriage, but we are sadly divorcing. My focus now is on my kids."
The divorce filing came months after they sold their family home in Rye, New York for $2.7 million
Rob Marciano Celebrates 10 Years With ABC
In September 2023, the 'GMA' meteorologist celebrated a big milestone.
"This month marks the start of my 10th year with ABC News, and I couldn’t be more pumped to continue this journey with all of you," he said last year on social media. "I always dreamed of working for this network as a kid, and my children are equally psyched that I will now be home most weekends!"
"I'll continue doing what I’m doing, contributing across all ABC shows and platforms Mon-Fri, while getting more quality time with my kiddos on the weekends," he added. "My thanks to the bosses who listened and made this work-life balance possible. I’m also grateful for an exciting new project with NatGeo that has me exploring some very very cool stuff… more to come!"
The Blast has reached out to Rob Marciano for comment.
