Jessa Duggar and husband Ben Seewald had a plan for giving birth to their third child — but you know what they say about plans — and she ended up giving birth on their living room couch.

The "Counting On" stars welcomed Ivy Jane on May 26 and a new video released by TLC shows just how the labor went down.

Jessa explained, "Our birth plan through this whole pregnancy was that we would deliver at a birthing suite at the hospital with a midwife there. However, the morning that my water broke was the morning that my midwife had left town for a week."

The couple called in a backup midwife to help deliver Ivy at home instead. Jessa explained that moving around helped spur her contractions with her previous two kids, so she walked up and down the stairs to help matters.

Eventually, Jessa gave birth to Ivy right in the living room. She was then taken to the hospital to help control her bleeding after labor.

In addition to Ivy, the couple is also parents to 3-year-old Spurgeon Elliot 2-year-old Henry Wilberforce.

Ivy's birth came just a few weeks before the tragic passing of the family matriarch, Grandma Mary Duggar, at the age of 73.

The family shared the news on their official Facebook page, saying, "We are so sad to share that Grandma Duggar (Mary) passed away Sunday afternoon, June 9th, 2019. Mary Lester Duggar grew up in Farmington, Arkansas and was married almost 50 years to J.L. (Jimmy Lee) Duggar who preceded her in death."

The statement continued, "She is survived by her daughter Deanna and her son Jim Bob, 21 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, with several more great-grandchildren on the way!"

It was later revealed that she died of an accidental drowning.
