Britney Spears has raised concerns recently, with reports claiming that the singer is in danger of "going broke" and is "completely dysfunctional."
This comes after she shockingly settled her legal dispute with her father, Jamie Spears, and was told to cover his hefty legal bills.
Now, according to a medical expert, Britney needs help and might benefit from "a new conservatorship" and "medications."
Psychiatrist Claims Britney Spears Is No Longer Taking Her Medication
During a recent chat with TMZ, famed psychiatrist Dr. Charles Sophy weighed in on the recent reports regarding Britney becoming "dysfunctional" and overspending her money, claiming that it is likely due to the singer not taking her medications.
Sophy said that her previous conservatorship was put in place "for a reason" and that the process needs to be in place due to the degree of the singer's "mental illness."
"The conservatorship was there for a reason," Sophy told the news outlet. "And even though it might not have been with the right person, the actual process needs to be in place because when you have a mental illness to this degree, you need that kind of structure, supervision, and, most importantly, to take your medication."
He continued, "I think that's what has happened here. This is a no-medication situation."
The Singer's 'Erratic Behavior' Is A Sign Of 'No Medication'
When questioned about his reason for concluding that the singer was no longer taking her medication, Dr. Sophy replied that her "erratic behavior" and other strange behaviors were signs of her no longer taking her drugs.
"Well, because of the erratic behavior, the manic spending of money, the recklessness, destroying people around her. No one feels safe around her. No one can control her. She's out of control on many levels," Sophy said.
The doctor further noted that situations like this worsen over time and that the singer could either hurt herself, hurt someone else, or be "5150 because she's not being able to take care of herself."
"Any of those situations will push her to a place where then medication can be given to her against her will," Sophy stated.
Britney Spears 'Needs Conservatorship' Because She's 'Out Of Control'
In his chat with the news outlet, Sophy shared that he hoped a judge would make the call to place Britney under another conservatorship despite the "public outcry" that the previous conservatorship faced.
"At the end of the day, hopefully, a judge would make the decision in the best interest of that patient. And if that's what she requires, even for a temporary amount of time, that's what she would require," Sophy stated.
The doctor also shared his thoughts on the termination of her conservatorship, noting that without the structure in place, Britney is "unraveling."
He said, "Look at it, she's slowly is unraveling. And [when] it was in place, she wasn't unraveling. She might not have been happy, but she was stable."
When asked what he would do to Britney if he were the doctor caring for her, Sophy immediately replied, "Medication. Put it in her."
"If she doesn't want to take it, I would inject it in her," Sophy added. "She needs medication. She's out of control."
The Singer's Friends Claim She Is 'Completely Dysfunctional'
According to TMZ, friends of the star claim that she is "completely dysfunctional" and is doing worse than she was while under a conservatorship.
They also alleged that Britney has been on a wild spending spree, paying for luxury resorts and private jets and suffering from "shocking and radical mood swings."
"She had lots of freedom in the conservatorship, and the restrictions were there to protect her. She's not protected anymore," an insider claimed.
The insider further noted that the singer can not afford her lifestyle and "is in danger of going broke."
Britney Spears Slammed Her Family On Instagram And Then Deleted Her Account
In a shocking Instagram post that came after she settled her legal dispute with her father, Jamie Spears, Britney slammed her family, claiming that they "hurt" her.
Britney captioned the post featuring a mirror selfie of her half-naked backside: "I was actually right about nerve damage in my back!!!' she started in the caption. I have to get [acupuncture] every day of my life now!!! Words and thinking too hard make it worse!!! If people only knew how I've had to crawl to my own door one time!!!"
She added, "My family hurt me!!! There has been no justice and probably never will be!!! The people who sat and did absolutely nothing when they did that for four months are smooth sailing!!!"
In another post, Britney shared a photo of the front cover of former Nickelodeon star Jennette McCurdy's book, "I'm Glad My Mom Died."
"'Stay nice folks!!! Good book," she wrote. Shortly after, she took down her account.
