Russell Brand Opens Up About Plan To Get Baptized And 'Leave The Past Behind'
Taking to Instagram, Brand opened up about the next step in his spiritual journey, revealing that he is getting baptized.
The actor looked happy to share the news and asked his followers who have gone through the same process to share their experiences with him.
Russell also mentioned how the opportunity to get baptized was a pathway to relinquish his past life, which he has once admitted to having been very, very promiscuous.
"It is an opportunity to die and be reborn and an opportunity to leave the past behind," he said in the clip he posted on the platform.
Brand also penned in the caption that his baptism would take place over the weekend, although he did not disclose where.

In the comment section of Brand's post, fans reacted to the announcement, congratulating him on it and sharing their different experiences.
One person wrote, "That is so awesome, dude-I am really excited for you-And the experience is different for everyone because we are all different but I think to everyone it is also awesome and unexplainable experience as well."
Another fellow commented, "God bless you, congratulations. I was baptized this Easter vigil with my wife and it is an incredible gift."
A third netizen wrote, "I was terrified into it (sic) when I was a child. It was unbelievably traumatic the way a church camp manipulated me into 'choosing' to get baptized. If I could be un-baptized, I would. But good for you, Russell. Adults can fully consent to their decisions."
One more person remarked, "Honestly, different people experience different things. I did feel a slight tingling sensation over my body when I was baptized."
Russell Brand Breaks His Silence On Sexual Allegations
Brand's revelation about his baptism comes months after he first broke his silence with regard to the sexual allegations that were leveled against him.
The actor admitted that in his past, he was "very, very promiscuous." However, he claimed that all sexual interactions he had at the time were "absolutely always consensual."
The "Despicable Me 2" star said: "I was always transparent about that. Then, almost too transparent, and I'm being transparent about it now as well. To see that transparency metastasized into something criminal that I absolutely deny makes me question, is there another agenda at play?"
Brand also noted that the attacks share some similarities with other independent news personalities.
He added, "Particularly when we've seen coordinated media attacks before, like with Joe Rogan, when he dared to take a medicine that the mainstream media didn't approve of, and we saw a spate of headlines from media outlets across the world using the same language."
Russell Brand Recently Had An Interview To Address The Allegations
More recently, Brand had his first sit-down interview to address the allegations following the beginning of police investigations.
"Attacks like this, a crisis like this – hurtful as it is to be accused of what I consider to be the most appalling crime – to be accused of this is very, very painful and very hurtful," Brand told Tucker Carlson in a video shared on YouTube.
He added, "But I am being shown that there are consequences for the rather foolish way I lived in the past. Though of course, again, to reiterate, due to the nature of the world we live in, of course I deny any allegations of the kind that have been advanced."
Nothing conclusive has yet to come from the investigations, making it unclear whether charges will be brought against the comedian.
The Actor Once Begged His Fans For Support After YouTube Demonitized Him
Brand once pleaded with his fans to subscribe to his Rumble channel after his YouTube channel was demonetized due to the sexual allegations against him.
The actor went on a rant on the platform, saying that his current troubles resulted from being targeted by the government.
Brand said to the about 70,000 people who streamed in, "If you're watching this on YouTube or anywhere else, eventually you're going to have to click the link in the description and join us over in Rumble, and if you can become a supporter it's the only way that you can back our independent voice at a time where it's obviously being challenged."
According to the Daily Mail, subscribing to the Rumble platform comes at an annual cost of approximately £48 [$58].
