Oliver Stone's Son Fears for His Life Because of Obsessed Fan He Claims Has a History of Mental Illness

The son of legendary director Oliver Stone has been dealing with an obsessed fan who he claims poses a serious threat to his life, and now he is seeking legal protection from her.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Sean Stone — who appeared in "JFK," "Wall Street," "The Doors," and "Born on the Fourth of July" — claims a woman (who The Blast is choosing not to name) began emailing him because of a news program he co-hosted.

Stone says the interactions were simple enough at first and he even allowed her to send packages to his business address. But Stone says he soon realized "that she was the worst definition of 'fan' meaning 'fanatic.'"

He claims that in August 2018, he was approached by an FBI agent because the woman had reported that she was concerned for Stone's safety. Stone says he had stopped responding to the woman's "increasingly erratic emails" that accused his mother "of being a mind-control victim" and his father of working for RAND Corporation "and being against me."

Stone says the woman has emailed his father's business repeatedly, accusing him of lies and being "worse than Caligula."

According to Stone, after he stopped responding to the woman's emails, she "shifted her tactics" and began attacking his girlfriend, Danielle Leigh. He claims the woman started slandering Leigh's business online and in emails to his co-workers, his father and Deepak Chopra (who he claims publicly endorsed Leigh's business).

Stone claims the woman's health records indicate she was hospitalized for "major depression" and "post-traumatic stress disorder." He claims the woman previously made "serious threatening statements to her grandmother about wanting to kill her mother's boyfriend."

On April 27, 2019, Stone claims he sent the woman a cease and desist letter, which she has since ignored. He claims she believes she has a "duty to protect" him, that he is "in danger" and that "all of her actions have been well warranted."

"I am concerned that she has my business address," Stone writes, "and poses not only a threat to me and my girlfriend's work in the realm of public opinion, but she poses a physical threat to us, given her medical history and statements."

Stone says he opened a Stalker Report with the Santa Monica Police Department and says the FBI agent he dealt with told him, "It seems she has some issues I'm not sure why she's fixated on you."

Last week, a judge granted a temporary restraining order against the woman, ordering her to stay 100 yards away from Stone.

A hearing to make the order permanent has been scheduled for next month.
