‘90210’ Star Tori Spelling Admits She's Not Close Friends with Co-Star Shannen Doherty

“90210” star Tori Spelling is changing her story about her past with Shannen Doherty and now claiming the two have never had beef, but also admitting they aren’t close friends now.
Spelling sat down with her husband Dean McDermott for his podcast “Daddy Issues,” with fellow co-hosts Adam Hunter and Nicky Paris, and spoke about the rumors that have dodged her and Doherty for years.
Doherty famously left the OG “90210” in 1994 after the fourth season. Many speculated in the years following that Spelling and Doherty had issues behind the scenes.
In the past, Spellling claimed Doherty got into a backstage fight with Jennie Garth at one point. Spelling previously also claimed she called her father, executive producer Aaron Spelling, to get Doherty fired from the show.
Despite her past statements Tori gave a different story on the podcast. She told McDermott that her and Doherty “were really close on the show” and “She was one of my best friends. And then when she left the show, there (were) all these press things that came out, like this rivalry, and it was never with us.”
She accused the press of making up the rumors about them at the time. Spelling did admit that the two aren’t close friends now but said there is no reason.
Spelling said she should have addressed the rumors of the bad blood earlier but didn’t want to add fuel to the fire.
The actress added, “she’s great. I saw her recently. She’s an awesome person.”
The “90210” reboot is also giving Doherty some bad girl competition with TV Line first reporting that Christine Elise, who played bad girl Emily Valentine on the original show, will be coming back for five episodes in the new show.
This comes after fans have been calling out Spelling, Doherty and Garth for appearing to play mean girls with each other on social media.
Many thought Spelling and Garth were throwing shade when they posted a bikini party without Doherty.
Days later Doherty posted a photo at dinner with Brian Austin Green with the salty caption, “Might be one of my fave dinner companions. @arent_you_that_guy #bribri not a fake bone in him and I love that. He’s real and authentic all the time.”
The "fake" part really got fans talking, with many assuming she was taking a jab at her other "90210" co-stars.
She's since changed her caption, completely removing the second portion of the text.
Something tells us things are only heating up. The show premieres on August 7.
