According to People magazine, the two athletes “kept their relationship quiet over the years, though they did attend some of the same events. The New York Giants tight end has gone to Plum's WNBA games since 2021. They also went to various team and sporting events for their respective Las Vegas teams together (Waller played for the Las Vegas Raiders until March 2023).”

Both Plum and Waller are accomplished athletes in their respective fields.

“As of 2023, Plum holds the most career points for a woman at the college level. She also was a member of Team USA’s U19 Team, which won a gold medal at the Pan American Games. She went on to become the first overall pick for the 2017 WNBA Draft, where she joined the San Antonio Stars (which later relocated and became the Las Vegas Aces in 2018). Plum won a gold medal at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics for the Women’s 3x3 tournament. She was able to average over 20 points a game, was named MVP during her first WNBA All-Star appearance, and helped her team win the championship in 2022,” according to People magazine.

Long Distance May Have Played A Part In Split

People magazine also reported that the long distance relationship had “been tough on the basketball star and her husband ever since he was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the New York Giants in March, less than a day after returning from their honeymoon.”

“‘To be honest, putting faith first and answering to something higher than myself is a big way for me to be the best wife, friend, [and] teammate I could be. Just like in basketball, in life, you got to be a great teammate. People don’t always remember what happens, but you remember how you’re treated. That’s not just with Darren, that’s with all the relationships with my life. I try to make sure that I’m treating people with that love and compassion that I want to receive in my relationships,” she told the magazine.

Plum Hints That She'll 'Share Her Story'

While a cause for the split was not given, Plum hinted that she would tell her side of the story someday in her IG message.

“God has given me an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends. One day, I’ll share my story, today is not that day. Thank you for the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward. Today and every day I will continue to choose joy. Much love KP. Philippians 1:6.”
