Noting their separation date as November 17, 2023, Brittany is seeking spousal support from Milan while asking for a termination of the "court's ability to award custody" to Milan.

She is also requesting full custody of their three minor children — 11-year-old Valentina, eight-year-old Nikolina, and five-year-old Milan Jr.

Brittany's divorce filing comes with zero shock as her estranged husband was recently arrested over alleged assault and battery towards her.

Per ESPN, Milan appeared intoxicated when officers arrived at his North End apartment in early November 18, 2023, following Brittany's report that he attempted to choke her.

Although Brittany informed responding officers that the member of the Boston Bruins' 2011 Stanley Cup championship team had pulled her hair, she denied any attempts to strangle her.

She also declined medical treatment, and Milan was later released on personal recognizance after pleading not guilty.

Milan's Team Placed Him On 'Indefinite Leave' Following Domestic Violence Allegations

Ultimately, prosecutors decided to drop the domestic violence charge against the Bruins forward, citing his estranged wife's decision to invoke marital privilege.

As it turned out, Brittany's decision made it impossible for prosecutors to admit 911 information to evidence and prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

Milan's challenges continued on the work front as the Bruins announced that he will not return from his leave of absence for the remainder of this season. The team's statement on the situation read:

"Milan Lucic will remain on indefinite leave from the organization for the remainder of the 2023-24 season. The Boston Bruins organization supports Milan and his family as he continues his personal rehabilitation."

What Really Happened In The Lucic's Home?

As already mentioned, Boston police officers hurried to Milan and Brittany's apartment in the early hours of Saturday, November 18 after the latter placed a 911 call.

As detailed in a police report reviewed by US media, authorities found Brittany waiting in the lobby when they got to the couple's home.

They would later discover that the former lovebirds allegedly engaged in a fight after Milan could not locate his phone and accused Brittney of concealing it.

When she attempted to leave amidst his accusations, Milan purportedly grabbed her by the hair and pulled her backward. He then allegedly prevented the mother of his kids from leaving, asserting she was not going anywhere.

The question about Milan attempting to strangle Brittany arose after the responding officer noted redness on Brittany's chest.

Another ice hockey player who has faced challenging times in his marriage is Drew Doughty, who was slammed with a divorce filing in September 2023.

In legal documents obtained by The Blast, Drew's wife, Nicole Arruda, cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

According to the filing, Nicole and the Los Angeles Kings star separated on September 1, 2023, after exchanging vows on August 8, 2018.

Notably, Nicole requested joint custody of the three children she shares with Drew, alongside spousal and child support payments.

Additionally, she petitioned the court to dismiss any possibility of providing support to the NHL player.

Drew's Estranged Partner Might Contest Their Prenuptial Agreement

While Nicole acknowledged the existence of a prenuptial agreement between them, her filing hinted at the possibility of her contesting its terms. The divorce filing specified:

"Determination of the validity of the Prenuptial Agreement dated August 2, 2018, and/or that any provisions are unconscionable."

Given Drew's status as the primary earner and his $88 million contract extension, he is likely to be mandated to pay a substantial percentage of his salary to Nicole.

The Doughty family's possession of several properties will also likely need to be divided in some manner.

However, it remains uncertain whether Drew will retain the assets or income acquired before their marriage, as outlined in the prenuptial agreement, or if they will be subject to division.

Nicole's divorce filing indicates that this matter will be clarified during the trial.
