The Spice Girls Gave 90s Vibes With Viral Reunion At Victoria Beckham's Birthday Party

On their hit 90s pop song, “Wannabe,” the Spice Girls sang, “Make it last forever, friendship never ends,” and at Victoria Beckham’s 50th birthday party on April 20, they proved just that by reuniting for an impromptu sing-along, much to the delight of party goers.

The Spice Girls reunited for an impromptu concert at Victoria Beckham's star-studded birthday party over the weekend.

As an excited David Beckham cheered them on, the five original members of the Spice Girls—Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham, Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell, Melanie "Sporty Spice" Chisholm, Mel "Scary Spice" Brown, and Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton—took to the stage at Victoria's 50th birthday party in London. They belted out their hit song, "Stop," with old dance moves included, while David Beckham recorded them.

Other celebrities in attendance included Eva Longoria, Tom Cruise, Salma Hayek, and Gordon Ramsay. All of the Beckham children—Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper—were also in attendance at the birthday bash.

The Spice Girls burst onto the pop scene in the mid-90s, pumping out poppy girl power bops like "Wannabe," "Say You'll Be There," "Stop," and more. The Spice Girls' signature brand of brassy, in-your-face lyrics, and stage performances led them to become the best-selling girl group of all time, with products, merchandise, tours, and even a feature film, "Spice World," inundating the 90s music scene.

Halliwell's departure in 1998 caused a media stir and made international headlines, leaving fans devastated. The group continued as a foursome before an indefinite hiatus in 2000. They reunited in 2007 for a tour, Return of The Spice Girls, which included Halliwell. They also performed together at the 2012 Summer Olympics Closing Ceremony.

The group would continue to reunite, sometimes with all members, throughout the 2010s. In 2018, they announced another reunion tour, but without Beckham, who cited commitments to her fashion line as the reason she didn't participate.

Their latest impromptu concert marked the first time the five performed together in years, but Mel B. recently teased in interviews that there will be "good news" coming for the group.

After Beckham posted the clip to his social media, his comments section was flooded with excitement from friends and fans. Comedian Heather McMahan wrote, "Literally would give my firstborn to be doing the STOP choreography with the girls." Andy Cohen posted a series of clapping hands emojis, while actress Hannah Waddingham wrote, "Yessss! And your fave is magic! Happy FABULOUS birthday lady Ms. V!"

Others took the chance to ask for an official reunion. "One more tour!" wrote a fan, while another posted, "Spice Girls, I really need you to do a tour or something."

Victoria Beckham reposted the video to her channel and captioned it, "Best night ever! Happy Birthday to me! I love you all so much! #SpiceUpYourLife."

Fans also praised David Beckham for being a supportive husband to his famous wife on her big night.

"David, you had one job and you absolutely crushed it," posted the official Spotify account. "I am crying because David's the groupie here," said a fan, while another wrote, "Thank you David for giving the people what they want!"

Beckham scored more points at the end of the evening when he was photographed carrying his wife out on his back. Victoria was spotted on crutches entering the party, but David's boost left her with no need for them on the way out.

While the evening was filled with famous friends and family members, one person was noticeably not in attendance. Victoria's daughter-in-law, Nicola Peltz-Beckham, wife of Brooklyn Beckham, was not among the guests. The actress had posted photos of her and her grandmother, indicating she was spending the day with her and not her famous in-laws.

Peltz-Beckham also posted a photo of the Beckham family to her stories, with the caption, "I'm so sad I'm not there to celebrate you and hug you! Sending all my love from me and Naunni. I miss you all so much!"
