Public Believes Riley Strain's Fraternity Brothers Are Involved With His Death Due To 'Strange Behavior'

After Riley Strain's family outed his fraternity brothers for their behavior following his disappearance, the public thinks they were somehow involved.
The University of Missouri student - who went missing on March 8 - was found in Cumberland River two weeks after he was last seen. The death was ruled an accident, as police say there is no evidence of foul play. However, the family claims otherwise.
Riley Strain's Family Outs Fraternity Brothers
Riley Strain's family sat down with NewsNation where they revealed some interesting details of the hours after their loved one's disappearance.
As The Blast previously reported, Riley Strain went missing on the evening of March 8. He was visiting bars in downtown Nashville with his fraternity brothers, but the student was reportedly kicked out of Luke Bryan's establishment around 9:35 p.m. However, his fraternity brothers did not leave with him. Allegedly, they planned to meet him back at the hotel, but Riley was nowhere to be found when they returned.
"Why wouldn't [the fraternity brothers] have called the police when they got back at 3:15 in the morning and didn't see him then?" Riley's mom, Michelle Whiteid, questioned.
Riley's stepfather, Chris Whiteid, then questioned why the fraternity brothers did not involve the police until nearly 14 hours after they last saw Riley. "We called them on the way down," he stated. "It was probably close to 12 o'clock, and they were just going to the Sheriff's office to report him missing."
Riley Strain's Family Has Yet To Hear From His Fraternity Brothers
Furthermore, ever since Riley's body was found, the family has yet to hear from the fraternity brothers who were with Riley that evening. "I haven't sat down and talked to any of them to say, ‘Tell me your whole entire story,'" Riley's mom said. "Would I like that? Yes. It would be nice."
Chris added, "I don't understand why they wouldn't have [contacted] us, wanting to provide information from that night. Maybe I'm crazy, but why should we have to reach out to them and beg them for information on a missing brother?"
The Public Is Now Questioning If Riley Strain's Fraternity Was Involved
Following the family's interview with NewsNation, the public is now second-guessing if Riley's death was indeed an accident.
"I just watched the interview with [Riley's] parents about the fraternity, and I never once thought they had anything to do with this until now," one individual revealed in a Reddit thread. "The following day, the fraternity didn’t even hesitate to get dressed up and go to a formal. What kind of brotherhood is that?"
Furthermore, the fraternity "did not go to the vigil MU held," which is a red flag to many. "I just can’t understand these people who are supposed to be his brothers treating him this way," the user added. "I truly did think this was accidental, but this is a lot of strange behavior."
Was Riley Strain's Fraternity Involved In His Disappearance?
While the public does not have the answer to this question, many are convinced that the brothers were somehow involved in Riley's disappearance.
"Yeah I felt it suspect that we never [heard] they were looking for him, but I didn’t think they had any involvement, but now it kinda makes sense why no one went with him to make sure he was ok," one user admitted.
"I agree. I went from no way are they involved to either they are the most callous, self-centered, and uncaring friends on the planet or something seems way off. Certainly not any 'brothers' I would want," another expressed.
Not only have the fraternity brothers been silent since Riley's death, but they have not turned over any photos or video footage from the night they went bar hopping in downtown Nashville.
Another user speculated, "They probably did some type of drug that they don't want to explain to police or the family. They definitely don't care about Riley. Frats are not brotherhood."
Riley Strain's Mom Reveals Suspicious Text Message From Her Son About His Drink
According to Riley's mom, she received a text from her son claiming that the rum and coke that he ordered at Luke Bryan's 32 Bridge bar did "not taste good," adding that it tasted like barbecue.
"Maybe there was something in it that shouldn't have been," she told NewsNation. As The Blast previously reported, the bar claimed Riley was only served one drink and two glasses of water.
Riley Strain's family has ordered a second autopsy and are awaiting the toxicology report, which will hopefully answer some of the questions that they (and the public) have.
