Amid Divorce Criticism, Theresa Nist's Daughter Affirms 'Loveliest Experiences' With Gerry Turner

While some speculate that there is more to the story behind Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist's divorce, her daughter has nothing but great things to say about the former'The Golden Bachelor' lead.

As The Blast previously reported, the 'Golden Bachelor' couple announced they are going their separate ways just three months after they tied the knot.

On April 12's 'Good Morning America' broadcast, Turner and Nist sat down with Juju Chang to announce their divorce.

“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations," the 'Golden Bachelor' lead began during the interview. "And we’ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation, so forth and -- and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage."

Nist then added, “We have received so much love and support from so many people who watched ‘The Golden Bachelor,’ and I don’t think we can tell you how many people told us that it gave them so much hope."

Fans couldn't help but notice Turner did most of the talking, and while they held hands, it seemed that Nist wasn't into it.

After the announcement, Nist took to social media to release her own statement.

"To everyone who has expressed love, support, and kindness to me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You are all such wonderful human beings. It means the world to me that you took the time to reach out to me, whether in person, on the phone, by text, or by direct message. You are all so kind to do so," she said.

"For everyone else who is confused and angry and who does not understand, please try to find it in your heart to understand and to try a little kindness. Not just for me, but for the world and for everyone you encounter," she added.

Days after the news broke, 'The Bachelor' alum Nick Viall speculated that maybe there is more to the story than the two have revealed.

"I think what shocked me the most is this wasn't just a normal breakup or an end of an engagement, this was a divorce announcement. I was caught off guard, and surprised by the abruptness," he told PEOPLE. "I feel like maybe there's more to the story that we're not hearing."

"Maybe Gerry's not as golden as we hoped he would be," Viall added.

While many speculate that Gerry Turner was not the man he claimed to be, Nist's daughter says she has had nothing but great experiences with him.

“I had only the loveliest experiences being with Gerry and his family," Jen Woolston said. "I will hold the days we were officially family in my heart forever, and will think of them as family, always."

Nist previously referred to her daughter as her "best friend," so fans can assume if Woolston likes Turner, perhaps there isn't a dark side to him after all.

"Happy birthday to my beautiful, strong, kind, supportive, loving, super smart, and overall wonderful and amazing daughter, and my best friend, Jennifer Ann!!" 'The Golden Bachelor' winner wrote in an Instagram post in January.

Despite the nice things Nist's daughter has said about Turner, fans are still convinced that something specific led to the divorce. 

One fan speculated that during the house-hunting process, Nist may have found out that Turner has financial issues that she was unaware of because "buying a house requires the banks and all to dig up everything under the sun," the fan claims.

Another member of Bachelor Nation agreed, claiming "their split is finance-related."

"He was so 'off' on their final date, but his attitude completely shifted when Theresa mentioned that she got into investing later in life and had done really well for herself. He was suddenly 100% into her [after learning that], despite ignoring her for the first half of their date," the fan added.

It should be noted that this is solely a theory, and Turner has never spoken out about his financial state. He has also remained silent on the divorce since the 'Good Morning America' interview aired on Friday, April 12.
