UPDATE

2:53 PM — It turns out police made contact with Camp just hours before his sister reported him missing.

Jesse Camp — who achieved fame in the late 90s after winning MTV's first "I Wanna Be a VJ" contest — is missing, according to his sister.

Camp's sister, Marisha Camp, first posted a message on social media last week, saying, "If anyone has seen or heard from my brother Jesse since Saturday, please, please, please reach out to me or ask him to call home!!! Thank you!!!!!"

Marisha posted another message today, saying, "Jesse was last seen in California last week but has not reached out to us yet. What he needs now more than anything is kindess and love ... Please keep him in your prayers."

A friend of Jesse's posted on Facebook that he was last seen in Fontana, CA and that Camp was "most likely without his phone."

The 38-year-old came out of nowhere in 1998 when he became an MTV VJ after previously being homeless. He was last seen in 2016 where he gave a random interview with Page Six where he pretended to be a gossip reporter.

He ended the interview by saying, "I’m zipping it ’cause I am on a very bad acid trip at the moment and I think I’m being interviewed for the New York Post — so clearly I’m not in my right head."
