Gypsy Rose Blanchard Put On 'Addiction' Notice After Cosmetic Surgery
By Afouda Bamidele on April 9, 2024 at 9:30 AM EDT
Dr. Paul Nassif wants Gypsy Rose Blanchard to keep her eyes on the prize in light of her recent nose job.
Per his recent conversation with a news outlet, the celebrity plastic surgeon is hopeful that the 32-year-old will avoid becoming addicted to cosmetic surgery in the long run.
Dr. Paul Nassif Hopes Gypsy Rose Blanchard Will Like Her New Nose
Dr. Nassif has revealed that many individuals tend to excessively alter their appearance after their initial cosmetic procedure. These excessive interventions can lead to patients looking "botched," ultimately requiring the assistance of the "Botched" star and his colleague, Dr. Terry Dubrow.
Despite that, Dr. Nassif is not entirely worried about Blanchard, who recently underwent rhinoplasty and septoplasty in her hometown of Louisiana.
Speaking to TMZ, he said, "If it is done properly, with the right patient, then hopefully she's gonna have a fantastic outcome and like her results."
Regarding critics who argue that it is much too soon for the 32-year-old, the celebrity doctor asserted that she has the right to undergo a transformation at her own pace and on her own timeline.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard Asked For 'Luck' Before The Nose Surgery
Blanchard initially shared her intention to go under the knife just days after she announced her impending divorce from her husband of two years, Ryan Anderson. As reported by The Blast, she stated:
"I'm going through a personal transformation journey currently and that includes a physical one, too. Wish me luck with my surgery and watch the whole thing this summer on 'Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up.'"
Even though she has yet to unveil the nose to the public, Blanchard did report that the operation "went great." She also disclosed, "I come in and out of sleep. I was in pain at first, but I am on pain medicine."
Additionally, she pointed out that she "can't breathe through [her] nose because of the packing, but that comes off on the 10th [of April]."
Anderson Responded To Blanchard's Divorce News With A Social Media Post
As for her unexpected separation from Anderson, Blanchard put the details of the situation in a statement, which began:
"People have been asking what is going on in my life. Unfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation. I moved in with my parents home down the bayou."
Luckily, the Louisiana native, who deleted her social media accounts in March, has "the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this."
She concluded the statement by noting that she is "learning to listen to my heart" and needed time "to let myself find… who I am." After days of silence, her estranged husband finally addressed the announcement in a TikTok video where he told fans:
"Y'all will see what really happened on Lifetime. We were filming a lot. So stay tuned for that. I will post more stuff eventually, I'm just hanging in."
Is Anderson's Alleged Abuse Responsible For Their Breakup?
Even though fans promptly began celebrating Anderson's supposed freedom from the broken union, it is worth noting that insiders previously accused him of abusing his estranged wife.
As Blanchard's close friend, Nadiya Vizier, revealed, during an altercation, Anderson "got in her face and screamed." The tattoo artist continued saying:
"Gypsy said that she was afraid he was going to hit her. He didn't — but that happened in the past with her mother. So, her first instinct was to tighten up and be prepared."
Vizier claimed that Blanchard managed to find safety and even contacted her lawyer, adding that the latter sought refuge by locking herself in the bathroom.
The following morning, the focus of "Mommy Dead and Dearest" packed her things and drove to her dad's home in Cut Off, Louisiana.
"I'm glad Gypsy got out of this situation. She's such a good person. I'm glad she called somebody and got help that night," Vizier shared further.
Blanchard's cousin Bobby Pitre also weighed in, alleging that Anderson originally contacted Blanchard "on a dare, and she took the bait." He also emphasized that "it wasn't a genuine relationship."
Blanchard's Public Sighting With Her Former Partner Raised Eyebrows
Things got even more controversial when Blanchard was seen holding hands with her former fiancé, Ken Urker, as they entered Dollar General amid her divorce announcement.
Urker subsequently dismissed talks of a reconciliation, stating, "we're just hanging out as friends, that's all it is."
The Blast recalled that the duo's initial connection stemmed from Urker watching the aforementioned "Mommy Dead and Dearest" documentary about Blanchard's life.
Although they became engaged in October 2018, they called it off after the release of "The Act" on Hulu in March 2020, as detailed in Blanchard's e-book, "Released: Conversations on the Eve of Freedom."
