Kodak Black was hit with a 2-count indictment after a grand jury found he made false statements to try and purchase firearms.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Kodak Black -- aka Bill Kapri aka Dieuson Octave -- is charged with making a false statement in the acquisition, and attempted acquisition of a firearm.

Basically, officials accuse Kodak of lying on firearm applications to buy guns at a Florida store named, Lou’s Police Distributors. The rapper allegedly listed that he wasn't facing any other serious criminal charges when he went to purchase a gun, without informing the dealer he had a criminal case pending ... and is also a felon that shouldn't be purchasing a gun in the first place.

Kodak -- who had the gall to offer to cover the funeral expenses for a hero student who was just gunned down in Colorado -- is facing 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

According to the charging documents, Kodak's arrest involved both local police and agents from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and U.S. Marshals, who said the arrest came as the result of an "extensive investigation."

As we reported, Kodak was recently arrested at the Canadian - U.S. border with a loaded gun ... and had his tour buses ransacked in Washington D.C. while officials searched for guns.
