Britney Spears' Mom Breaks Silence On Singer's Health: She's 'Wonderful'

Britney Spears' mom has been by her daughter's side for more than a week as they take on the star's conservatorship, and is speaking for the first time publicly on Britney's ongoing recovery.

Lynne Spears was leaving a cell phone repair shop Monday in Thousand Oaks when she was asked how Britney's doing since leaving the mental health facility last month.

"Wonderful," Lynne responded while hopping into Britney's Mercedes-Benz SUV ... she didn't address questions about Brit being held against her will in the ongoing conservatorship.

As we reported, Lynne and Britney held hands as they walked into the L.A. courthouse last week to discuss the restraints on the 37-year-old.

Britney wants more freedoms in her daily life, but the judge in the conservatorship first wants an expert evaluation to determine if a change is necessary and possible without sending the singer into an emotional tailspin.

Lynne, who now wants to take a bigger role in the conservatorship, has been staying at Britney's home ... but Jamie Spears has not been seen with his daughter in quite some time.
