Cole Brings Plenty, known for his role in '1923', was found dead after he was named a suspect in a domestic violence case.
The 27-year-old, who is the nephew of 'Yellowstone' star Mo Brings Plenty, was first reported missing on April 2 after he was last seen on Sunday evening in a white Ford Explorer.
Cole Brings Plenty Named Suspect In Domestic Violence Case
Mo, 54, shared a missing persons poster of his nephew on his social media page. Just hours after the poster hit the internet, the Lawrence Police Department named Cole as a suspect in an incident that "involves allegations of domestic violence."
According to the release, police "reports of a female screaming for help, but the suspect fled before officers arrived." After an initial investigation, police identified Brings Plenty as the suspect as "traffic cameras showed him leaving the city immediately after the incident, traveling southbound on 59 Highway."
After identifying him as the suspect, police said they "have probable cause for his arrest, and issued an alert to area agencies."
"This incident involves allegations of domestic violence, which limits the amount of information we can share to protect the victim," police said.
Cole Brings Plenty Goes Missing
After sharing the missing persons poster twice, Cole's uncle, Mo, shared another update.
"Despite our persistent efforts, we have been unable to establish contact with Cole, and our immediate concern is his safety and well-being. Cole's sudden disappearance without telling anyone his whereabouts is anomalous, causing a wave of concern spreading rapidly across the nation and parts of Canada," Mo captioned a later Instagram post.
Adding, "It has been suggested that Cole is on the run, but there is no evidence to support this claim, and we urge everyone to refrain from making unfounded speculations. It's important to let the legal system determine truth and justice. Assigning guilt because someone hasn't been found is not the due process to which each of us has a right."
Cole Brings Plenty's Body Discovered In Rural Area
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office confirmed that Brings Plenty's body was discovered in a rural area of Kansas on Friday, April 5 at around 11:45 a.m. The police searched the area after they received reports about an unoccupied car.
"Deputies checked the area and discovered a deceased male in a wooded area away from the vehicle," the sheriff's office wrote in the release. "The deceased male has been identified as Cole Brings Plenty, 27."
