Melania Trump is ready to dip her toes back into politics amid her husband, Donald Trump's bid to be re-elected president.
The former first lady is reportedly set to host a major political event for Log Cabin Republicans. This comes after she told MAGA supporters to "stay tuned" on her potential return to the Trump campaign trail.
Melania Trump Will Reportedly Host Log Cabin Republicans At An Event
The Slovenian-born former model, who has been conspicuously absent from her husband's campaign trail, is set to make her grand return to politics by holding an event for Log Cabin Republicans.
According to an invite sent to Politico, the event will take place on April 20 at Mar-a-Lago, the Palm Beach, Florida, club where she resides with Trump.
The Log Cabin Republicans, a group that touts itself as "the nation's largest Republican organization dedicated to representing LGBT conservatives and allies," has reportedly had a close relationship with Melania since her tenure as First Lady of the United States.
The 53-year-old received an award at a dinner the group threw at Mar-a-Lago in 2021, where she was the special guest. Trump himself gave a speech at a 2022 event held at the club by the group.
Per the news outlet, the group's April event will see the launch of its "Road to Victory" program, which aims to target voters in swing states ahead of the upcoming presidential election.
Is This What Melania Trump Meant By 'Stay Tuned'?
Melania's upcoming event with the Log Cabin Republicans comes after the former first lady replied cryptically to a question regarding her return to the Trump campaign trail.
The mother of one was asked the question after making a rare appearance alongside Trump at the Florida presidential primary.
In response to the question, Melania gave an enigmatic answer, saying, "Stay tuned," and chose not to elaborate further on the subject.
At the time, critics slammed her two-word response, with her former aide, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, going as far as claiming that "stay tuned" meant "don't hold your breath."
However, it would seem Melania's short response was actually about her event for the Log Cabin Republicans and other possible events she will hold in support of her husband's re-election.
The Former First Lady Will 'Definitely Have A Role' In Donald Trump's Campaign
Since the start of Trump's campaign, there has been speculation about Melania's absence, with several reports alluding to a strained relationship between the couple.
Recently, sources close to the former president's team told CNN, "She'll definitely have a role, but in terms of what that is, I don't know. It is her decision on how much or how little she will be campaigning."
At the time, multiple sources claimed that there were no hints that she would play a more active role. However, they also mentioned that Melania could change at any time and campaign harder for Trump.
This upcoming event for the Log Cabin Republicans could be the start of her active campaigning for her husband.
Melania Trump Is 'Selective' And 'Methodical'
Sources told the news outlet that Melania's prolonged absence from the campaign trail is partly due to her being a very "selective" person.
The source claimed that Melania is very picky about how she presents herself and the kind of events she attends.
"She is very selective and methodical in what she wants to do and how she presents herself," the source told CNN. "She is very decisive with these things and knows they have a lot of intended and unintended consequences."
While she has not made any public appearances for Trump in a while, Melania was seen by the 77-year-old's side when he played host to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán at a formal dinner in Mar-a-Lago. She also joined Trump for a gala hosted by his fan club, the Trumpettes.
The Ex-First Lady Does Not See The Need To 'Stand By Donald Like Jill Biden'
Melania's former Chief of Staff, Stephanie Grisham, claimed that the former first lady has no intention of following Trump to every event amid his re-election campaign.
Grisham revealed to CNN that Melania said she did not need to "stand by" her husband as Jill Biden does for Joe Biden. The ex-aide also claimed that Melania was not interested in going the Hillary Clinton route to "stand by your man."
"Melania has said, 'I don't need to stand by Donald like Jill Biden; it is like she's holding Joe Biden up,'" Grisham said, adding, "[Melania] is very much not going to do the Hillary Clinton 'stand by your man' thing."
Away from politics, Melania is also said to be busy helping her son, Barron Trump, who recently turned 18, find a college.
