“I am stuck on BAND-AID Brand ‘cause BAND-AID’s stuck on me…"
Actress Skai Jackson is back with BAND-AID Brand, but this time with a plot twist!
Remember her iconic role in their commercial at just five years old? Now, she's recreating the magic on TikTok using their new, rebooted jingle in honor of their 50th anniversary, and she wants you to do the same!
Skai Jackson Is Stuck On BAND-AID Brand Once Again!
The iconic "Stuck on You" jingle has been heard in homes for nearly 50 years, sung by kids and adults of all ages, including a five-year-old Jackson in a 2008 BAND-AID commercial!
To celebrate this half-century milestone, the brand has rebooted the catchy tune, and Jackson, 21, is taking a walk down memory lane the best way she knows how – with a fun and nostalgic TikTok video!
"It is such a full circle moment. Just having those memories from when I was 5 years old working with BAND-AID Brand to flash forward now to almost being 22 and working with them again. This is just so much fun to do and just being able to do the new jingle," Jackson told The Blast exclusively.
"It is just such a full circle moment and having those memories and just being able to even wear like a similar outfit that I did from when I was 5, I think everyone is just gonna love it. It’s so mind-blowing and shocking to me that people even still remember the jingle, and then not only that, we’re making a new one that’s even catchier and it’s just all good.”
Skai Jackson Shared The New Jingle In A TikTok Video
While the catchy jingle that everyone knows from so many years ago is a favorite, the new rebooted jingle is something that Jackson thinks people will also love. She recently shared a TikTok video with the audio, and that's something that every content creator can now do.
“It’s gonna be an official audio so people will be able to put the audio into their videos," she said. "It’ll be very easy to be able to use the audio sound. You’ll just be able to put it on your video and from there everyone else’s will pop up as well, including mine.”
With more than 16.6 million followers, content creation is something Jackson takes seriously, but not too seriously. She often shares videos of her cooking, organizing, getting ready, and other relatable things.
“For my content creation personally, there’s really not a lot that goes into it. I always want to keep my videos really authentic and true to myself so honestly," she explained.
“There’s not much of a thought process that goes into it. I just put my camera up on the tripod and just see where it goes from there. I don’t like to edit my videos too much. I like to kind of just see what comes out. It’s not too much of a thought process.”
Skai Jackson Sometimes Shares Blasts From The Past On Her TikTok Page!
The actress enjoys sharing her life on social media and often will share a little blast from the past on TikTok.
In one video shared last month, she shows a photo of herself as a young child in a "Dora the Explorer" ad and then a photo of her more recently. Her followers seem to love the trip down memory lane.
"First Zuri now BADDIEEE," one person wrote in the comment section. Another added, "My childhood all grown up!"
In another TikTok video, she shows multiple photos from her childhood acting days.
"Who's watching this in 2024 and remembers 'Jessie'?" one person nostalgically wrote. Another person said, "You made my childhood, thank you."
Skai Jackson Shares Advice For Anyone Who Wants To Become An Actor
Jackson has been in the industry since she was just a baby. She started out modeling and then moved into acting. She said it's something she "always dreamed of doing," and she shared some advice for anyone who's considering getting into the acting.
"First off, make sure it’s something that you really want to do, because a lot of people don’t understand that it is so much work. And once you’re in, you’re kind of just in it," she said.
"I started out with modeling so it was all I knew, and was already into that groove and really just love being on set and being able to show my personality."
She also said it's important to keep up with your craft. Taking classes or doing things that can showcase your talent is important. And now with the way social media is, that's another important part.
"Doing little things that can help you and showcase your work, and making either videos on TikTok or Instagram to kind of use that as your resume as well because the world has changed so much with social media," she said. "I would always want to say that it should always be something that you want to do and it should always feel fun and not like work.”
Skai Jackson Has An Extensive Resume Of Roles
With so many great roles in her past, it's hard for the "Jessie" star to choose just one favorite. But one of her faves did come to mind.
"That's hard to pick, but I would say when I did my film 'The Watsons Go To Birmingham' was most definitely one of my favorites because it was a time period piece and being able to recreate those moments of a true story that happened was really fun," she told The Blast. "Still to this day, people remember that movie as well."
For Jackson, there's been one challenge she's faced in the industry.
"The biggest challenge for me personally, because I do look so young and I'm shorter, so certain roles I would go for sometimes would be like we really love you but I'm either too small or look too young," she explained.
"But if anything, that kind of just puts more fuel under the fire for me to keep going and keep pushing cause I know what is meant for me will happen."
